The neighbors and neighborhood are nice, and the building is nice enough. Just pray that you never have maintenance problems.
JAS is the most disorganized, lazy, half-assed landlord I've ever had. They respond quickly to maintenance requests -- but completely inadequately. The problem never gets fixed on the first try, or the second ... you're lucky if it's the fifth. Their strategy is always to do as little as possible, with only the thinnest appearance of actually trying to fix the problem. They never follow through without repeated nagging.
Examples: I spend most of February with no electricity in half my apartment, due entirely to their disorganized and botched attempts at fixing the problem (leaky roof + bad wiring). I spent the better part of 3 months with a bathroom sink that was all but unusable. I spent one entire winter with an indoor temperature right around 80 degrees, after having spent a month of that fall with a temperature under 65.
A word of advice: if you rent from them, videotape the whole unit to record its condition before you move in. Submit every maintenance request IN WRITING as well as by phone, and call 311 to get a city inspector out to verify the problem at the same time you make the request. Document every letter you send, and every call you make. And if you send mail, send it certified -- they have claimed not to have received letters I sent.
Better yet, avoid these bozos altogether.
