This apartment looks great from the outside, but dont be fooled. The leasing department pretends to care about customer satisfaction upon meeting them, but again...dont be fooled. This apartment is about money money money. They will do ANYTHING, and I mean ANYTHING to get your money. This could range from telling you that you moved into the wrong apartment (although it is written in your lease and the keys were given to you) and giving you a "transfer fee" of over $200 to overcharging you on your electric bill to pay for THEIR hallway heating. Do NOT be fooled when they say head is paid for in the major rent expense...they consider heat as electric. The ELECTRIC is NOT included in rent. Also, they do not accommodate if you need to stay longer...say, a month or so. You will have to pay an extra 100 dollars or so a month to stay over 12 months. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR SATISFACTION...they care about collecting money. Lastly, parking is extremely stressful. They overcharge to rent a parking space in the garage that gets vandalized and broken into, so if you like your car....dont park near this town...IT WILL GET SMASHED INTO. Dont be fooled by the many opportunities they have here (work out room, Theater, etc). They are hardly ever available. And upon moving in, the apartment was NOT cleaned. There was food rotting in the fridge and in the garbage disposal and guess what? I got charged for damages!! Dont waste your time and live here...I have spent 75% of my time in Melrose counting down the days to move out when my lease ends. Only 4 more months to go....that is too long of a time to hate where I am living. Living is supposed to be comfortable...if you believe that, do NOT live in Melrose Apartments, Minneapolis.
