I lived at Lakewood about 2 years ago and then had to move due to a job transfer. When I ended up back in Minneapolis I looked at many other places to live but I ended up back at Lakewood. I just couldn't find a better combination of location, amenities and value. I also really liked the staff. They welcomed me back and I didn't have to go through the application process or pay the app fees. I have been back for almost a year and am very happy with my decision. I love being close to the lakes and on the midtown greenway. Parking can be a hassle at times and an occasional loud party late at night but I think that is fairly typical in most buildings in the area.

I am very happy living at Lakewood Isles. I have lived in the complex for 2 years now, first in a delux studio apartment (a bit larger than a studio because you have a separate area for your bed and a nightstand)and now i'm in a one bedroom. both apartments, as well as the the entire building are very clean. updates are made as needed (new carpet/paint were installed in each apartment before i moved in). There is also a TON of closet space and free storage units are available in the basement. The area is excellent being so close to the Midtown Greenway, lots of restaurants, grocery store, pharmacy, and the lake! The staff are very friendly and the maintenance staff are prompt, polite, and pick up after they are done working. There is a great outdoor patio/grilling area where you can use the grills at no cost. Also the office hours are very convenient...they are open a bit later a few nights a week so you can pick up packages (another really nice feature...packages are left in the office so you don't have to go pick them up at the post office/UPS store). Two thumbs up!

We lived at Lakewood for just over a year. We loved the location and being close to the lakes, shops and the Midtown Greenway trail. The office and maint staff was great. They were quick to respond to our maint. request and the office staff was friendly and even offered to feed our fish when we unexpectedly had to go out of town. Overall a good experience and I would recommend LAkewood Isles Apts to anyone looking for a place in a great location for a good value.

the place is nice, no problems. Dark due to the lack of windows, but I never heard anyone else, maybe I just got lucky with quiet neighbors. I'd recommend it 100% if THEY FIXED THE FIRE ALARM PROBLEM!! For a while it would go off at least once every other day, the fire truck would come, nothing was wrong, we'd go back in. After a couple weeks, no one went out anymore, thank God it was always a false alarm! <P>

The only real downside to this apartment is lack of windows. There is a screened balcony on upper floors, which is nice to keep out bugs but sucks because it also keeps out light. The bedroom window looks into the screened in porch, which was odd. I needed many, many lamps for this apartment. On the upside, the management is great! There is a HUGE indoor pool which is rarely used! And the location is great. Directly behind the building is the paved Greenway bike trail. Underground parking is extra and parking on the street sucks for the most part. All in all though, it was a decent apartment~just too dark for me.
