Lived Here Over Two Years, Here Is Really What To

When I first came to Four seasons I liked the amenities and outside atmosphere. I had a little over a month left on my old place and wanted to get moved in on October 10th/05 into my new place. When I first had the tour of my unit, it definitely looked like a party shack. The carpet was torn and stained, the laminate on the kitchen cabinets was peeled or missing, the closets were rusted and the front door was littered with several hundred dart holes from a board that must have been put up there some time ago.
The staff is very friendly but that is just a front to placate you. Because it looked like hell I was told that everything would be fixed by move in time on the 10th of October. When moving day came the carpet was shampooed none of the other repairs had taken place. Because the carpet was so stained after it dried the stains reemerged. After complaining for 6 months the closet doors were finally replaced
by ones from another unit. They were not new but they were at least painted. After 3 more months the dart holes on the front door were puttied up but not all and with a light colored putty against dark wood so it looks just as bad. Some of the kitchen cabinet doors were replaced with ones from other units again and others I had to stain myself. There was a hole in the bedroom wall that I had to spackle. I took pictures of most of the damages and still have them on file to protect my security deposit Finally after complaining enough they responded by saying we have done more to your unit then any other at which I replied , Well that’s not saying much.
Now let’s talk about the staff. They will agree to everything you request but do nothing about it. I requested a carpet cleaning after living here a year and it look six months to get it done. My ex-wife came down with breast cancer and had an operation to remove the left breast as well as the lymph nodes. Her insurance didn’t cover all of it so the family pooled all available funds together. When I told the staff what was happening and that I would be late by 10 days with the rent, they said no problem for a $75.00 charge and for a year and a half with these guys I have always paid early except that one time. The water in the building gets turned off for no reason and in the spring, summer and fall the sprinklers water the lawn daily at the cost of water pressure to the tenants. It gets so bad you can’t even rinse the soap out of your hair. If you want to get past the management and contact the owner you can’t because he is building his new house in the Caribbean. We have also lost our regular maintenance guy and have part time maintenance now in order to cut cost. Now the latest issue with these people is the request for more security especially in the community garages. We have had a rash of auto break-ins with no signs of forced entry, four in our garage alone in 2007 and the year is not up yet. There have been many break-ins as well in the other garages to the complex. The staff doesn’t tighten security in any way. They won’t hire a security guard, they won't install cameras which would be cheaper, and they won’t even change the locks even though we think the acts are created by someone on the inside or has a key now.
My SUV was just broken into 3 days ago and because I have a high deductable I had to pay for the back window myself. When I told them I wanted to move out due to there inaction and negligence, they said no problem but you have to buy out the lease. I am now talking to my lawyer to see if I may have a possible civil case. He says it looks favorable and might turn into a class action law suit if other tenets want to get aboard who have gotten broken into.
My simple opinoin and warning about this place to you all is,"It's nice on the outside but I wouldnt want to live there."

Take care and good luck apartment hunting.
