Review for The Place Apartments

This apartment complex has ruined My chances for ever wanting to live in another apartment. Not only is the management horrible, but they barely speak any english! The office hours are completely bizarre, and it seems they take advantage of their "be back in 10 minutes" sign.
Our building was CONSTANTLY a pig sty. It seems they had two caretakes, one for each building, with units totalling about 200! just in our hallway there has been garbage bags full just laying around, blood and snot smeared all over the walls, cat feces and litter laying by the trash chute, this building was RARELY cleaned. If i wasnt paying so much to live here Id consider cleaning it myself!
In order to ever use the "gym" you have to check out the key from the office, well the office is barely ever open so why even advertise that they have a workout facility?!?
Just in the past 5 weeks the garage door to the heated underground parking has been broken ATLEAST 4 times. It sits open overnight(welcoming thieves and delinquents) and there has never been any compensation or apologies to residents. In order to get in, you must either go in through the exit, or park outside(in which case you HAVE to park in guest parking to avoid being immediately towed, yes, even if you have a parking sticker)!
My fiance had his car broken into and everything stolen out of it just sitting in the parking lot. They posted a flyer 'reminding' everyone to lock their cars at night due to the HIGH number of break-ins.
DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT LIVE ON SECOND OR FIRST FLOOR OF THESE APARTMENTS! lucky for us, we have 2 400lb people living above us, so we hear EVERY step they take! so much for getting any sleep.
and Last but definitely NOT least, they raised the rent in 2008 for a 2 bedroom to $840!!! I would NEVER EVER in my life consider these apartments again and it has been the worst experience of my life. if you are considering these, please please look as far into your unit as possible! I would recommend listening to hear if you can hear your neighbors. Thanks for reading, and I hope this helps!
