Apartment Reviews for 808 Berry Place Apartments
1 Star is pushing it

This complex advertises it's "luxury" apartments, but let me tell you, they certainly are not! Don't even bother reading over your lease, because they try to make you pay all these extra fees, fines, and give you violations for anything they can.
This complex (and probably Dominium as a business) is losing money, and to make up for that they are over-charging their residents as a result. The walls are paper thin; I can literally hear my neighbors through my wall when they are talking at a normal level. There are no vents in the bathrooms, the utilities are THROUGH the roof expensive because the building is so poorly insulated and is not energy efficient at all.
There are people screaming in the courtyard at all hours of the night. The courtyard is closed at dusk, so amenities such as the fire pit are basically useless. The workout room is small, cramped, and not ventilated. The "free" tanning is actually 4 minutes for $1, and you have to buy a tanning card. The hallways perpetually stink, and there is ALWAYS construction being done on the building, so forget ever having peace and quiet.
There are residents (primarily seniors) who have lived in the complex since it opened 8 years ago, and they are the rudest people I have ever met. They try to kick you out of the movie theatre room for no reason, they walk their cats down the hall (with no leash), and they shush you for talking at a reasonable level OUTSIDE.
The worst thing about 808 Berry Place: The management. They ask for outrageous fees (non-refundable) for things that are not stated in the lease. They take personal calls all day long rather than working to improve the community of the apartment, and they don't tell maintenance about any requests you make for them. We have had a wasp nest in our heating/cooling unit for over a month now, and they have yet to do anything about it. They leave work early, and the office isn't open when it's supposed to be.
The current lease states that new residents pay a $500 security deposit, only $205 of which is refundable. $295 goes towards getting the apartment professionally cleaned, painted, and the floors done. This makes the moving-out process easier, or so we thought!
My neighbor just moved out, and the lease that they signed stated that they have a $500 security deposit, all of which is refundable. Because of this, they are responsible for deep cleaning the apartment and getting the carpets professionally cleaned. They can opt out of getting the carpets cleaned, but then they have to pay 808 Berry a fee for cleaning the carpets. Knowing this, we spent a full day cleaning the apartment and making it spotless, only to find out that they would only get the $205 back and that they only needed the apartment in "wipe-down clean condition." This is after they had received a notice from 808 Berry Place stating the checklist of cleaning that they were responsible for. This checklist included things such as "making the faucets shine like the mirrors," cleaning the blinds, and removing the fridge to wash the walls and vacuum the cooling coils. So...Why send a checklist if they don't have to clean?
This apartment literally will accept anybody, and will take FULL advantage of you and your wallet. Do NOT get sucked in like we did; as much as I can't wait to move out, I dread the problems we're going to encounter when we do so! I'm disgusted with the management of 808 Berry Place, and even more-so disgusted with Dominium. Oh, and did I mention that I have tried numerous times to contact corporate, and have never once received word back? Talk about poor customer service. Trust me, if I could give this place only a single star, I would. NOT WORTH IT. Find a different place to live, literally any other place is better than here.
