the location of the apartment is very good, its secluded with trees and a pond, park right across the street, cub foods, super target, gas stations, food places all along lexington (connected by cnty rd E) my boyfriend and i got a move in special (we pay 650) liked the layout (very open) new countertops and the staff seemed professional at the time...personally our caretaker i think is lazy, it was clear the apartment was not cleaned very well when we moved in. i had to vacuum up kitty litter by the kitchen and SCRUB some red splatter that was all on the side of the fridge (gross!!) also we gad been promised steam cleaning and an accent wall, none of which was done. we told the office and she wrote down our building and room number (on a sticky note...) however the painter came around 10am a few days later (we had already been informed with a slip under our door to expect him) and he painted. it makes an apartment feel nice with some paint (not just cream/white) the steam cleaning on the other hand (which the office said had been done, yea right) was a bit of a pain. after we e-mailed tycon companies about our problems the office got right on it! (lol) but the steam cleaners came and moved a lot of our stuff around (which is a big no no) we also werent aware (or home that day) and the windows were left wide opened (we are on the ground floor and it was expected to rain the night) i was ****** and marched right into the office and told Deb a thing or two! she actually had the nerve to tell me (after i told her the windows were left opened) 'this is a nice neighborhood and bad things just dont happen' so i bitched at her about that (because thats ridiculous) and pretty much since then the office has been quite accomidating to us :)when our dishwasher went out they sent someone out who said it was fine (he was an idiot)because it still wasnt working so we went to the office AGAIN and they sent someone out AGAIN and this time the guy said the pump was out (so we got a new dishwasher not great quality but i dont want to wash dishes by hand) now for the noise... dont get me wrong the building seems quiet indeed (lots of middle aged people live here) however the psychos above us are a totally different story, i think they are on crack (but i have no proof) they are always up walking around (day/night whatever) and their dog runs around. the scariest thing tho is that my boyfirend and i would wake up and hear the lady chanting, jumping around, clapping at like 3 in the morning!! sometimes she would scream like she was in a trance and she would start playing music in the middle of the night! once we banged on the ceiling... and they banged back!! we have complained to the office 2 or 3 times and so have other people. all the office does is send them a note that they were disturbing people. honestly tho they are more quiet now (at least no voodoo chanting anymore) but if it happens again i will not hesitate to start filing police complaints its the only thing to make the office REALLY do something about it (and they could be evicted) the apartment itself is pretty old and in the spring boxelder bugs are a pain! the grounds are pretty well kept, there are washer and dryer on every floor (all buildings have 3 levels) when they break they are fixed right away. the clubhouse has a ok gym (i like the treadmill) there usually arent lots of people trying to get in at one time i have never had any problems. the pool is sometimes gross (i found a bandaid) but the office insists its cleaned every morning (ive never complained tho there is a sign on the door) the sauna works and the party room is nice for gatherings. overall the area is great, weve never experienced any breakins, our car ins went down because its considered a 'safer area', good location (right off 694) the office staff is lacking but they do have a job to do and dont be afraid to remind them that! personally i would continue to live here aside from the problems weve had here.
