Apartment Review for Heatherwood

I started renting this place two years prior to the new company buying the complex. Then, the place was in okay condition, but nothing impressive or very-very nice. Still, the peace I had with no one ever bothering me, and being able to go on vacation without coming home to a million notes shoved under my door from the manager, was worth living in a place with dated carpet and lighting. Then the new company came in, and with them brought their miserable, unhappy manager. She really turned the place around, but at the expense of one not being able to go on vacation because if it snows and they need to plow, and you're not there, but your car is, you will be TOWED AT YOUR EXPENSE-- NO EXCEPTIONS. Seriously. No jokes. And to top it off, not only does the place get plowed during winter (I know this is good, but when one is out of town, there should be an exception and there isn't), but during summer the lot gets swept and again, if the car is not moved it will be towed. She gives a two-day, sometimes three-day notice to have the lot emptied. But in the case when one is on vacation, there is no courtesy to the tenant. One time before snow fell, I forgot ONE empty soda can on the balcony and the day the snow melted (months later), the manager called me demanding I "remove my trash from the balcony". Yes, the place is kept clean, yes, the apartments are rather quiet, yes it's a convenient location (I think), but she is so nit-picky and rude. Every memo comes (and there are many) with a fee consequence attached. I saw MANY tenants actually leave as soon as their lease expired, and even go to the length of breaking their lease because they could NOT stand her attitude. I actually thought maybe the manager was just the rude person, so I called corporate to complain. That got me no where. It's like they're all just rude and frankly it wouldn't matter if they weren't so nosy, but they are. Every so often, she would notify us there was something she needed to check and so she'd come in even when we weren't there. Nothing ever went missing in our apartment, but just the intrusions were frustrating.
