I have been at Cypress Lake for a year and a half now. I am moving out at the end of the month and moving into a house. I have had a few issues since moving in at the apartments. The apartments are advertised as a gated community. As far as I am concerned they should just take the gate down. The gate is constantly broken, and when it does work people just sit in the neighboring restaurants parking lot and wait for someone to drive through. As of now they actually have the gate tied open, yes TIED open because it is not working AGAIN. An exterminator comes around every few months to spray but it does absolutely no good. Even after spraying there are still roaches. I have had to throw away several shirts because my apartment had a problem with silverfish eating holes in them. And for the last month or so I can hear what I think is a rat or mouse in the wall. Another problem is that you can hear every movement from the peoples above you because the floor squeaks with every step they take. You can tell exactly where the people above you are at all times. There were several cosmetic issues when I first moved in, but for the most part maintenance took care of it. I have only had to call maintenance twice to my apartment and both times they did take care of the issue, so I can’t say too much about them. When I first moved in my rent was $725 on a one year lease. Then I signed a six month lease and my rent went to $775 a month, but they raised the rent on all lease terms. I think a month-to-month lease is $825. I only chose these apartments because it was close to where I worked and they seemed nice when I moved in. They are “ok” if you are only looking for a temporary place. Another slight issue is the parking, but I have not had a real problem with that. They do have a exercise room, but it isn’t anything fancy. They do have a “walking track” around the small lake in the middle of the complex. The greatest thing about the complex was there was a nice size family of ducks that made their home in the complexes lake. However kids were always throwing things at the ducks, moving the baby ducks around and even smashed a few of the ducks eggs. I have not seen the ducks in a few days, but I have not walked out the lake recently.
All in all, the apartment was just ok for a temporary place to stay. I am glad though that I am moving soon to my own home.
