Apartment Review for Brentwood Place Apartments

My boyfriend & I moved to Brentwood Place Apartments in October 2010 when I first moved to the city (he's from here). We thought it would be a great place to live & a wonderful area...we realized QUICKLY that we were mistaken!! Our first issues with Brentwood Place was we were told we could have a ANY cable provider we chose (by Beth, who is now gone). After the one provider came out & had to talk to the leasing office, it turned out we couldn't have their provider...needless to say, I was made to look like a fool. We went to talk to the leasing office & were told by Tamera that Beth didn't tell us that & that our building wasn't equipped for that kind of connection. Really' You think we made it up' Second issue we had with them was our bill. We were told we could do online bill pay WITHOUT a service charge for using your credit card. After trying to pay the bill (which that's another issue) we found out that was a lie as well. So, the bills huh' Those NEVER came on time. The bills would come to us at the END of the month around the 29 or 30th & some were even on the 1st & we would have to then pay the rent on the 1st. REALLY quick turnaround huh' Especially when it wasn't the same every month!! Oh, and want to know WHY it isn't the same every month'! It's because they tell you "oh, water will be included on your bill"...yes, they are right in that but it's because it's a COMMUNITY water bill. My boyfriend & I were so fed up with this apartment complex by July, 2011 that we went somewhere else & was paying 2 rents just to get away from Brentwood Place. Anyways, since we were gone we were clearly using ZERO water. Funny how our bill came for $800 & month instead of JUST the $770 that the rent was supposed to be. Hence...community water bill! We're paying for that pool that was NEVER cleaned & was discusting. The pool boy never took care of it & when he was out there he was with his girlfriend/wife cuddling & showing PDA in front of the entire complex. Another issue we had was in the winter of 2011, I was blowdrying my hair (as every woman does) & the electricity went out. Well, we didn't even have access to the breaker box so we would have to call the maintenance tech every time something like that would happen. One time we even asked if it was a "real emergency"' Real safe when it's below 0* outside, so yes, REAL EMERGENCY!! This place is downright discusting. The people who work there are absolute crooks & have no idea how to manage an apartment complex. I would NEVER reccommend someone living or moving into Brentwood Place Apartments even as the staff has changed because we still had issues with them. We tried moving out & the lady we talked with before moving out had NO CLUE how to process it or how much we owed or what to even do with all the information we gave her. She told us that if anything else was needed that Alexis would get ahold of us. Alexis, clearly, never got back to us so we thought there was nothing to worry about. Obviously not, we are now facing a $750 bill that has been sent to collections in which we NEVER saw the actual bill for. Unreal & unbelievable. DO NOT LIVE AT THIS COMPLEX!!
