Apartment Reviews for Fountain View On The Plaza - Kansas City

I've only lived here for roughly 3 months but thus far I have had nothing but a great experience here. After reading the reviews above I was very timid about putting in a first months rent but I have not experienced anything similar to the previous reviews. New management seems great, no problems and they will even throw get togethers for the apartment complex residents in the club house. I've met plenty of great people that also reside here and continue to meet more each week. The maintenance team has gone above and beyond normal duties to help accommodate myself and other residents. The only thing I would advise against is if you're a introverted type of person this may not be the place to be. This place attracts a lot of young professionals and students so there are the occasional social gatherings on the weekends.

I have lived at Windsor/Fountain View for about a year. Under the old management, Windsor had friendly and helpful office and maintanence staff. I never had trouble getting repairs done. The office staff treated you as an actual person. Under the new management, Fountain View has gone downhill. The office staff treat you as if they're above you. They're also not very intellectual. I've gone down to the main office multiple times to receive a package that was dropped off there. After one of the office staff ladies went in the back to look for the package the first time and returned unsuccessfully, the lady proceeded to rudely question whether I had actually gotten a slip of paper from UPS posted on my apt. door stating that I actually got a package. Then, she proceeded to look again. After not finding it again, the lady requested another staff member to help her. After three tries and the assistance of another office staff member, they finally found it. Sadly, this has happened to me two or three times in the past few months. <P>
Parking is nice because you have a designated parking spot for your car. No one parks in your spot because there are usually enough guest parking spaces. However, if you're color blind you definitely won't be able to see the green marked spaces for the guests! If you live on floors 1-3, you have covered parking. The 4th floor apartments don't have covered parking, but they have vaulted ceilings in their apartments. <P>
Also, the security is very comforting, but since the new management took over, security has gone down. The entrance/exit wooden stick-like "gate" (the kind you would see at a toll booth) is constantly being knocked down by the wind (of all things). That's disturbing because you pay a lot for the security of the community. <P>
I have been relatively satisfied with the overall apartment complex and my humble abode; however, since the new management took over, I have been decreasingly thrilled. Maybe the new management is still working out the kinks in its new undertaking of managing the previously luxurious apartment complex known as Windsor, but I hope they clear up the problems soon. I guess I would still recommend this place to my friends because it fits my needs. I want security and location. Location-wise, it is close to the Plaza, UMKC Main Campus, and UMKC Hospital Hill (School of Medicine) which is what I need. <P>
