I loved living here. I never had a problem with getting maintenance work, the staff in the office could sometimes be a little unfriendly, but we all have bad days.
As for the other tenants, we had some good neighbors and some bad, just like any place. The only issue we had was our neighbor parking in a way that blocked our car in bc our parking area was horrible (probably one of my biggest complaints about parvin) but we filed complaints and eventually the issue was resolved. The rules said we had to file 3 complaints before they could take action against them.
The unit itself was nice, no real big maintenance issues. When we moved in our toilet had problems and they replaced the whole thing. It acted up several times and they always came to fix it. The only real problem with the units that I can think of is the ac runs up from the basement, so the top floor always stay really warm, but that's a flaw in the building design and nothing that maintenance could fix.
I love all the things that they do for the kids, like parties for holidays and giving out free stuff. And I thought it was great when I found out they give away coats in the winter if you are in need of one!
The other tenants do tend to let their kids run around alone, but like the other review said, the curfew is strictly enforced and I never had a problem with noise after curfew.
One of the other drawbacks is the door locks. Our door didn't have a chain lock, only the deadbolt and I didn't really care for that. I had people just walk in my house twice when I was just sitting at home and hadn't locked my door, both of them were accidents bc all the units are identical and some of the street names and house numbers are similar.
And as a testament to the staff, my neighbors left a pot on the stove and left the house. It caught fire and I heard the alarms going off and called the Fd and the maintenance people to come open the door and one of the maintenance guys came and unlocked the door before the Fd got there and ran in the house to make sure no one was in there.
All in all i liked living there. It has some drawbacks but every place will.

I have lived in Parvin 3 seperate times over the past 15 years. It is not a bad place to live. There are a LOT of kids whose PARENTS let run crazy without supervision, but there is a curfew and security keeps it under control. If you keep to yourself and don't get in your neighbor's business it's a decent place. The maintenance is always on top of repairs (for me anyway). We had roaches when we first moved in, called and they came out weekly and sprayed until the roaches quit coming back. All places will have roaches if tenants are dirty. But because these are government subsidized, they are all over keeping it nice. I don't mind living here at all. It's affordable and in a decent location. If you treat them with respect and are kind in your requests, they treat you the same.
