Apartment Reviews for Scandia Village Apartments
Don't Do It!

I am a current resident at Scandia Village and want to warn all potential people to stay away. This place is ridiculous - the manager is clueless on people skills. Even if you are a rule abiding and paying resident like myself - I'm even having issues!
Here are a few of the issues we have had:
1. A local night club is located right next to the apartment property. If you can handle the loud thumping of bass music all night, then your okay (If you sleep with a radio, it will drown it out). However, at approximately 3am most Thursdays & Saturdays, that same night club uses a leaf blower to clean the parking lot (You will hear that).
2. They have over rented our unit and managements solution to the problem is asking residents to park 3 buildings away or at the local club house (Very convenient considering the safety issues - read #3). As well, there are no reserved parking spaces other than the ones the manager reserves for herself, right in front of her building. If reserved spaces did exist - I'd gladly pay. Let's also consider the fact that parking issues should not be a residents issue - thats a management problem.
3. There are some weird characters visiting this place. I'm pretty certain by the amount of traffic going in and out of a couple of buildings, we have some trafficking issues. The suspected people doing it are friendly, but the odd ball people either delivering or picking up (This occurs all hours of the night.) are scary. I don't feel safe, let alone allowing my spouse to walk by herself. To even add to this activity, management has zero security personnel to watch over the area.
4. Snow and ice removal is minimally performed. Other than clearing sidewalks, their idea of clearing a parking lot is letting mother nature take care of it.
In conclusion, my 2 1/2 years here have been an experience for sure. I'm certain with the right people running the place, it would be fine, but in the present situation it will continue to go downhill. Management turns their head on suspect activity and harasses rule abiding tenants like myself for no reason.
Best of luck to those signing leases!
