Review for Quail Creek Village Apartments

My husband and I moved into these apartments in July 2008. We were very impressed with the location of the apartments and the safety of the surrouding area. We also really enjoyed the way our apartment was set up: full size, very nice appliances in the kitchen and the bedroom was very nice sized. Our neighbors were also fantastic.
However, when my husband got laid off in January 2009, we had to break lease and move out of state, where we had other employment opportunities. To break the lease, we paid the amount of 2 months rent. When we spoke to the manager of the apartments (Brian, who was new in Jan 2009), he helped us out and even told us that, even though we broke our lease, he would refund us back our security deposit and, if our apartment was rented out in March or April, he would give us back the month s rent for each month that he had a new renter in our old apartment.
Well, we had given our new address to Brian and then asked when we would be receiving our security deposit. He gave us a timeline of about 2 weeks. About an hour later, he called and said, "Sorry, I forgot to tell you, since you broke the lease, we are not going to give you the security deposit. If you have any problems, read your lease." Well, I thought an oral agreement was going to override what the lease said about the security deposit, since oral agreements in businesses are considered binding agreements. But, we took the news with grace and accepted we would not be receiving this security deposit back.
So, a month goes by and we find out, through some friends in Springfield, that our apartment had been rented. So, we called to find out when he would be sending our month s rent back (because it is illegal to charge double rent on a particular rental). When I called him, he asked who told me I would be receiving this money back. When I informed him that it was him who had told me, he began yelling through the phone, telling me that there was no way he would have ever told me such nonsense and it was our fault who had obviously misunderstood what he said. I informed him he had told both my husband and I at different times that we would receive this money. He told me that I was obviously wrong and there was no way he was wrong because he knows the rules and would never tell us anything like this. After yelling at me for about 5 minutes over the phone about how wrong I was thinking he would even consider telling me this information, he told me that if I had a problem with him, I could take him to court, where he would enjoy seeing us lose and then hung up on me.
I was always really impressed with these apartments until having to deal with the financial issues that arose when leaving. Basically, if you are planning on leaving, do not take anything Brian says seriously, because he will definitely go back on his word.

Come on lady....I am sure you was mad when you put this on here. The manager that we have here is so nice and you said he yelled I dont see that...Brian is a great manager he always helps me everytime I go to the office. They keep this place very nice. I have lived here for 3 years and I LOVE it. You should read your lease when you break your lease you have to pay a buy out FEE...Thats not rent! So they don't have to pay you anything. I have been thru this with the Wooten Company all places are the same.. I think your just mad you had to pay, but come on people this lady is just a old mad resident becouse she did not get her way. Check this place out and meet the staff for your self they are all great and you will love living here...
