Apartment Reviews for Merchandise Mart Apartments
Ethically Challenged Leasing Agent

If you are working on short time frame for finding housing, forget Merchandise Mart. Here are a few of the problems that I experienced:
++ Misleading Advertising: Website and Flyers list 1 BR units at rental rates that aren't available.
++ Bait & Switch: Inquired about 1 BR units available for immediate move-in. Told that there were multiple units available. Looked at 1 BR unit. 18 hours after viewing I put deposit down. Told that the vacant unit that I viewed wouldn't be available for 3 weeks... but that other more expensive units were available now.
++ False Representations: Direct inquiry was made regarding availability of parking in the building. Leasing agent stated that garage parking was available. In fact, parking in the building garage was unavailable - there was a waiting list.
If you expect straight answers to direct questions, avoid working with leasing agent Jennie McKire. I am glad she was caught in her lies before I signed a lease.
