FANTASTIC PLACE TO LIVE!! ( 09/04/2012 )

I called The Gallery on Washington home for nearly 4 years. I couldn't imagine a better place in regards to how wonderful the staff had been while I was there. In addition to it being a safe place to live within the city, the intangibles and amenities the management staff provided were beyond anything I could have expected.
The rent is cheaper than some in the area, but don't let that fool you. The appliances are top notch, the floors are all hardwood, and each place has it's own balcony. In addition to these things, the Gallery staff offers you the option of including your utilities in your monthly rent. They'll even furnish your apartment for you if necessary. Gated parking, passcodes to get into the building, security cameras EVERYWHERE, makes it a very safe place to live.
I wouldn't think twice about renting from this group again in the future (They have more properties throughout the area). Bottom line, if you're looking for something in the CWE or Midtown/SLU area, this is a gem of a place.
I'm not a "Yelper", nor do I get into any other kinds of websites like this that involve faceless, uneducated, or sometimes idiotic reviewers. My point is that I NEVER leave reviews so without a doubt in my mind The Gallery on Washington has earned not just time, but my respect as well.

I recently moved from out of state to the Gallery Apartments on Washington. I was looking for a studio/efficiency anywhere in the city of Saint Louis that was less than $700/mo. I toured a number of places, and the Gallery Apartments was 1) infinitely cleaner and more well-equipped than the competition and 2) the second-cheapest rent I found.
Coming from my previous city, this part of Saint Louis first struck me as seedy. I thought that I'd be constantly looking over my shoulder. Let me tell you, I was wrong. The Gallery is filled with young professionals, graduate students, and some older adults. The street is a mix of town houses and suburb-style houses. The streets are always well-lit, and the off-street parking is gated and has a flood-light always on. Regardless, there are Jaguars and BMW's parked overnight every night without incident. The neighbors are extremely friendly. A few streets north gets a little rough, but a few blocks west are some of the nicest places in town and a few blocks east is the center of arts in the city.
The location is great, though I'd recommend having a car. Biking is also a viable option, but walking will take a while to get to anywhere but the grocery store and some fast-food joints.
My efficiency is huge compared to most. The bed is lofted, opening up the floor space. Washer and dryer in unit. Large kitchen appliances. Hardwood floors. Granite counters and bathroom tiles. Well-kept hallways. The entire premises is under video surveillance and you need pass-codes to get anywhere inside. The inner area between the two buildings has a nice grill and seating area.
The employees are extremely responsive and helpful, and I've never had an issue with them. I honestly have no complaints so far.
Highly recommended.

I just moved out the Gallery apartments to take a new job in Pittsburgh, PA. I lived there for a little over 2 years and let me tell ya... it was great! I have rented from 9 different properties over the last 8 years and the Gallery apartments were by far the best I have ever experienced! The management staff are so kind and will bend over backwards to make sure that you are happy and comfortable. If anything were to ever go wrong, which it rarely did... they were instantly there to help us out. Their buildings are in great condition and are a great place to live for the price. You're a 5 minute drive from downtown and a 2 minute drive from Euclid in the central west end. Pet friendly and gated parking was a huge plus! I will truly miss that place and the people who manage it. I would HIGHLY recommend this property to anyone who is looking!

I just moved out of this apartment. I'd lived there for 2 years and will miss it and Saint Louis. I already miss my washer/dryer - my new place in Tulsa doesn't have them in my apartment. Overall, I liked the management and staff, they were always helpful. The neighborhood was convenient - nearby grocery store and bus routes and I liked having other professionals and grad students as my neighbors - it made the building feel more stable. If I ever move back to St. Louis, I'll definitely see what they have available first.

I recently moved out of the Gallery Apartments to move closer to my church in Jefferson County. The Gallery on Washington is the very best value for the money of any apartment complex in St. Louis County. The management team is always there to help, but never intrusive. The complex is always clean and safe. The washer/dryer in each unit is great and they have a wonderful firtness center. I give The Gallery my highest marks!

This is a seriously great apartment!!! Do not pass it by. I moved out because of a relocation; otherwise I would still be living there. Both the building and management are top notch.
I lived there Jan 2011 to May 2012, having previously been in my own house for 6 years. Because of this I was picky. The Gallery has both the combination of amenities (the place a boutique feel) and security that I needed to make moving from out of state and living in St. Louis very comfortable. The management was both flexible and super responsive whenever I needed anything. But I think the deciding factor was knowing the owner of the building was on the property from time to time. To me, this ensured the property would be maintained.
I really can’t say it enough; this is an A+ property. Don’t let it slip by. Go see for yourself. I hope you will be as happy there as I was.

I had nothing but a wonderful experience at the gallery. The unit was small, but my $495 was well spent on granite countertops, new appliances, hardwood floors and a washer and dryer. Yes, you probably shouldn't walk alone at night, but you're in the middle of STL...what do you expect? I, a female, lived alone for several months, coming home late from work, and I never felt unsafe. I also never saw roaches or any other pests. Keep your unit clean, and free of standing water and cardboard boxes and you're set.
I had a nightmare of a subleaser situation and Jennie and the owners were nothing but understanding and wonderful. Before you make any judgements on the place, stop by and ask a few tenants walking around of their opinion. I can almost guarantee that you'll hear good things.

I am from California, moved here for work at Barnes Hospital. I have a 2 bed/2 bath unit and for the money, it is extremely upgraded. I will renew here again but probably transfer to a smaller unit. The office staff has been very helpful about giving me the option to do so after my roommate leaves to go back home for the summer. I think that if you live in the city, you have to have common sense about the car situation. I have not had any problems but I have some friends who live off of Euclid who have had thier cars broken into several times this year. Its the ecomnony. So have common sense and don't let that affect your decision when choosing to rent here. I really like it.
Just my opinion- Nicole
P.S. I have never had a problem with bugs in my apartment, but I am extremely clean as well. Just saying. Usually people who have gnats and roaches in their houses are not clean people. I have never heard of calling a landlord to exterminate gnats. LOL Anyway, I am sure if the office staff was notified they would take action immediately. This is not the kind of place that would allow that. It is way too nice here. Just saying...:)

Came from out of town and was amazed after seeing several apartment units in St. Louis. This was the best. I could not believe all the granite that is in the building. The courtyard reminded me of Europe. The staff and owners of the property were very helpful with my move. Glad to be here... This is my new home!!

I am a consultant and move around from city to city a lot. I'm in St. Louis for an 18 month contract and I was very happy to have found this apartment complex at an affordable rate, furnished, quiet, GREAT staff, clean, and excellent location. I'm looking forward to transferring to a larger unit here as soon as one becomes available and stay here for the duration of my contract, and possibly even longer. I highly recommend The Gallery Apartments!! Thanks, Sue

I have been looking for an affordable apartment in the Central West end for months! I recently graduated SLU and I was so surprised when this place popped up on my search! I have been living here now for 3 months- They opened the building after a year of renovation in Jan 2009- Anyway I love living here! It is really quiet, their office staff is great, very helpful, and I like my friends reaction when they enter the building- It is all granite hallways with artwork and a fountain in the center of the entrance lobby. I have already recommended several of my friends. I am only on apartment review because I was giving my old apartment building a bad one (The Saum). Anyway- it is worth a look-
Sincerly - Very pleased M.B.
