Don't Rent From Here!

If you think Timber Ridge looks like a nice place from the outside, keep on driving by. It's decent looking, but repairs do not get done, the apartment manager and the head office in Lincoln don't return phone calls, it's noisy and not very clean. I've lived here over 6 months and moved in because there was little other options in town. I wish now I had rented a house instead, it would have been less expensive and the management probably would have been nicer. The weekend I moved in I found 6 items that needed repair such as a missing handle on the refrigerator, a hole in the wall, and a broken lock. I had to wait 2 months for these repairs to be done. I have since discovered there are mice. When I called to complain I was laughed at and hung up on. There is no on site management so that is always used as an excuse why repairs can not be done immediately. When I initially tried to rent I could not get anyone to acknowledge that they received my application that I both faxed and completed online. I had several phone conversations with the main office in Lincoln where they finally said they didn't have my application and needed me to complete one, 2 weeks after I completed the first one and while I was 2000 miles away on vacation. The apartment was dirty when I moved in, there were stains on the carpet, all the light bulbs were missing and the fire alarm was going off because it had a dead battery. All things I thought they should have noticed before someone moved in. I was given 2 different quotes on rent before moving in. My lease explicitilly stated no pets of any kind, the first night I was here I was woken by several dogs down the hallway. The train passes nearby every night at midnight. There are kids constantly running up and down the hallways unattended. I never did receive a copy of the lease as I requested, several times. It was more than a month after living here before I even saw the apartment manager as she only stops by to collect the rent and needed me to sign some more paperwork. Some of the apartments are considered low income housing therefore drugs and sketchy characters are predominant. Not a place I'd leave my door unlocked, even if it is a small town. For what you receive this place is overpriced and not very clean. I'd recommend renting a house or one of the very small apartment buildings. I've seen some nice houses in the area.
