Review for Charter Oak Apartments

If you want to be safe, if you want things fixed within a month, if you like having your manager there to be able to talk to, RUN!
This apartment NEVER answers the phone in the office, when you leave a message, it takes the lady at least a week to even listen to it. She's never in the office- even if the office says "open", it's locked and no one's there.
When i moved in, they had told me they were going to replace all the carpets, put in a new microwave, etc. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE!! I've even called the realty company that manages these apartments, and nothing has been done. They DID repair my security alarm, but then said they didn't know what the code was.
The security doors never work- just yesterday there was some dude pounding on my door at midnight, looking for someone. There's always people sitting outside the doors. Cars are always parked in the middle of the parking lot, blocking other parking spots. Neighbors are loud, drunk teenagers or loud wife-beaters with screaming children.
There is one laundry on each floor- and they add $16.00 onto your rent for use of the laundry. Usually the only days you can get into the laundry is before 5pm during the week- don't bother trying during the weekends. The dryer constantly stops in the middle of your load- it once took me 3 hours to dry a small load of laundry because the dryer kept turning off.

The cops are here every other day for one thing or another.

Just... short and sweet, don't even bother calling to look at an apartment here because, first of all, they won't answer the phone, and second of all, you'll regret it and wish you could break your lease.
