Review for One Thousand One Apartments

I have lived in the 1001 Apartments in Omaha Nebraska for almost 6 years. I think this will be my last. We seem to have a different management company every year or so. The latest management company (Cornerstone Commercial) is the worst of all of them. The place has really gone down hill since they took over. They seem to have a problem hiring and keeping qualified maintenance personnel. Some of the ones they have hired have ended up in jail or fired for inappropriate behavior. The good ones always quit after only a short time for some reason. It is kind of scary to think how many master keys are floating around this town. The quality of the work most of these so called maintenance people do is fair to say the least. They worry more about fixing up units to rent before fixing the existing tenants problems. Several of the overhead parking lot lights have been out for months creating some dangerous dark areas. There is chuck holes all over the parking lots that need filled. They no longer weekly clean and inspect the hallways. Cornerstone Commercial seemed to have lowered the new tenant leasing qualifying standards so low that we now we have ended up with what I consider a few undesirable neighbors which has lead to some loud late night parties, people yelling in the court yard, pounding car stereos in the middle of the night and some junk cars stored in the lots which does help with the lack of parking spaces. We never really had these problems in the volume that we have now till the last year. Most complaints about these issues have gone unaddressed. The latest management company has eliminated the on-site manager so there is no longer anyone present to over see the running of the complex.

It really is too bad that Cornerstone has allowed this to happen; this complex had a lot to offer with its huge apartments at reasonable rates. MrCabMan in Omaha
