Apartment Reviews for Montego Bay Apartments
DONT DO IT!!!

I will never live here again! When we moved in two years ago, the carpet had seen better days, the place had about 20 layers of paint, outlets are so worn that anything you plug into most of them just fall out with a breeze, and the stove looked like it came out of a 60’s trailer. Now granted they are less expensive than most which is why we moved in but wow, that was just the start of it. After two years living there, we now live in a 5 bedroom house and our power bill is less here! It is very old and every window in the apartment feels like an oven left on with the door open in the summer. The A/C ran non stop night and day and that was just to keep you from sweating sitting down watching TV. Our apartment and from what I understand a few others required us to call maintenance to come out to switch from heat to A/C and vice versa (something to do with bad wiring.) This would not have been so bad if it didn’t take two weeks for someone to show up and do it and this was forced on us with no way to fix it. And each time we were put on a waiting list to have it done knowing the inconvenience it caused us due to our unfavorable situation. The 2 pools in the two years I lived there were closed almost the whole time we lived there. I think at most 5 months out of the two years I lived there and most of that time only 1 pool. I fulfilled my lease term and moved out. Management informed me I wouldn’t have to do a final walk thru with them and that they would contact me if they had any issues (BIG MISTAKE!!!) After giving them my new address, phone number, and email, I heard nothing and assumed all was well and left on good terms. We paid never paid rent late and knowing they would have to replace the carpet anyway with the way it was stained and tore up when we moved in plus the 2 years of wear and tear from us on top of it. We still vacuumed and shampooed the carpet and cleaned the place before we left and they still are charging us for the carpet as well as paint. After 2 years!! We later got a letter of a list of those charges those and other things and two years of wear and tear means nothing to them I can assure you. But that’s not the worst of it. They sent it strait to collections saying it’s their policy to do it! No attempt was made by them to collect from us direct or inform us of these charges until it got to this point. So we had to pay that off plus the “convenience fee” to the collection agency which at this point we would have to dispute with them and Montego Bay won’t even talk to me now at this point. I feel they will stab anyone in the back if they can so I really have nothing nice to say about this place and I feel the need to slap anyone who asks me if I think they should move here and that’s from someone who was a good tenant. I prey for those who are late or anything like that.
