Do not move to coral garden Apts. Coral Garden Apts. 5421 E. Harmon Avenue Las Vegas, NV 89122 This is slum with nice landscaping!!!!! You can't live in the landscaping!!!!!!!!! They pretend to be very nice but it is hell on earth. I had lived in Coral Gardens and all I can say is it was the biggest Ghetto I ever lived in. "Any Aimco property seems to be this way from the Horror stories from one of it's other properties Kings Crossing in Summerlin. Kings crossing has been on the news several times and my brother had lived there also." I was given a bait and switch when I moved into Coral gardens. The 1 bedroom Apt. did not look like the model at all. The Model had a nice bar, nice flooring, a hall and a dishwasher and modern lighting, nice private feel. They never showed me looked nothing like the one they gave me. The Apt. they gave me had old dirty carpet, a nasty vinyl floor a old air wall unit that did not work, no dishwasher, a horrible pocket door for the bedroom door like you see in a 1970's trailer, no fire walls, no fire exsingersher, old nasty cabinets, bugs, All Windows on shared landing. Why would I stay? They had my money and I had to move somewhere. I could not afford to move twice. In fact I had to live in this for two years. I had to save money to move. It's almost 2 grand to move in this city. I can barely afford my light bill now. LOL I am trying to save money so I can get a TV big enough that I can see. LOL I have a serious eye problem so I am on SSI. Other people are trapped there as well. Many are elderly and will die in summer. A common day living there. I get woke up at 5am from the sounds of the lady next door walking her dogs rattling chains and barking. It was one pain glass right off the shared landing withe a few other apts. Then at 6:00 She wake me up again going into her apt. at 6:30, then at 7:00 the peoples alarm downstairs would go off and they bang around till 7:00 then the noise in the thin foam walls would pick up at the apt. behind me. I hear them talk for a bit. Then the horrible music would come from the lady with the 3 dogs next door. So I had to get up at 5am to save my sanity or make white noise. The floor and walls where so thin The jerk who lived downstairs would pound on the ceiling when we play chess or come up and yell at me as I type on my computer. I hated every downstairs person I ever had. I am not a loud person. They just did not understand how thin the floor was. Not to speak of the hole in the kitchen floor. They told me it was a smudge...... There where holes under the rug as well. I would talk with my mother on the phone and she say where are you? Are you at a park? I say no. There be so much noise from about 15 kids playing outside music blaring that is sounded like one. They say watch your kids in the flyer's each month they drop at my door but rarely did anything about it. My windows where closed. This would go on sometimes till 10:00pm. If you opened the shades you could see into 3 other homes. Nothing like seeing your neighbors prance about in there underwear. I felt like I was on constant display. When ever I throw something out the old nosy old bat would ask for it downstairs. There where also bums that would go though the trash and make a mess. That was a gated a community. A gate with no code and just a key card. I had to walk to the front gate to let people in. We had dumpster fires more then once. Security was a joke it was a old man who sit in his car in front of the office. When winter came they walk about. I got hassled taking my garbage out. I had nothing to really cool my home. I had to vacate in 2004 for two weeks at a friends house when we where having weather out here that was 115-120 everyday. I had to go to the hospital 2 times from the heat. I had to keep the windows open at all times or get the effect you get sitting in your car on a hot day. They replace the air unit 4 times. When you did run it the bill could be as high as 200 bucks with no cooling effect. The saddest part was my fridge. It had broke one winter and would stop working. I was told I had to defrost it myself. I had lost lots of food many times. There Apt. Also had moldy smell that was horrible. I learned to defrost it every 25 days. The day it shot freon all over my kitchen I had to go back to the office. 3 days latter they replaced it. The front door had to be locked to close. The closet door would fall on me and hurt me. They sent me a bill for a hole in the bedroom door. They did not say closet door because they know they are a hazard. You pay more then just rent here. They charge for water, Gas, trash and parking. Yes, you heard right parking..... It was divided by a matter with the other 16 or so units in the building. It was not just I bedrooms per building but two bedroom units with family's as well and a lady had a garden. I was paying a extra 65 bucks a month on top of all my other bills. The toilet never worked right and had to be flushed 5 times to go down. I asked them to fix it and they did so half ass-ed.

I paid at least 500 when I moved in there not only a security deposit but a deposit to hold it etc. on a 200 buck special. It was special all right .Hidden fees all the way. They sent me a bill for carpet and a new vinyl floors and a hole in the bedroom door. There was no hole in bedroom door it was in the closet when the door fell on me and broke a 2000 dollar bed and hurt me. They want 628 bucks. I tried to get legal counsel it cost about that much to fight it. Let them turn me a creditor. I will not pay it. I feel they owe me if anything. I also watched animal abuse daily the office would not do anything about. Across the way Upstairs there was a small dog that would be tied up for hours at time up there on about 24 inches of rope. No water in the heat. I had to call animal control. We also had very large dogs that would run everywhere and people braking into cars and brawling neighbors. I felt war torn living there and abused. I feel in many ways it has made me a much darker person and trust seems to be a huge issue with me. I did find a better Apt. It took me 3 months to do so. I have actually had horrific dreams about that Apt. complex. So I wanted to warn people about it and hope no one moves there. Have a good day. P.S. The landscape is very nice but look closely at the buildings. http://www.coralgardenapts.com/site_map.htm
