I rented an apartment here for my wife and kids when I came down on orders for Korea. With Nellis so close I figured it was a good choice. The grounds looked nice and upkept and the staff was friendly when I came to rent the place and check it out.
The night I moved in my U-haul truck was vandalized with graffitti. The other tenants sit out on the steps/patios and blatanly smoke majuana in the open. There was a couple that was stabbed to death a few buildings down within a couple of weeks of us moving in. There was an average of a shooting in the complex about once a month. The kicker was when my wife came to visit me in Korea for Christmas. We had a housesitter there watching the place and the kids and still had a break in. In the MIDDLE OF THE DAY someone kicked in the front door, tossed the apartment, and walked out with a pistol, a rifle, and a shotgun. And get this, NOBODY SAW ANYTHING! Yeah right. This place may look alright during the daytime but turns into ghetto central a soon as the sun goes down.
After this happened I moved my family to Oregon to live with my mother. The management threatened all sorts of early termination fees, blah, blah blah. I told them to stick it, I wasn't going to have my family living in such an unsafe place. After going back and forth for a couple of weeks they finially dropped it, but kept my $600 deposit.
If you're a hood rat you'll fit right in here. Otherwise I'd avoid this place at all costs.
