Great Place To Live For The Money

I have been renting a two bedroom second floor apartment for two years and four months. I agree with the other reviewers that the management is rude, and that the snow is not removed quickly and completely. Fortunately none of my appliances have broken down till date, so I do not have any experience with the management in that area. I once had water leaking in the laundry area and a bee-hive in the patio; both were promptly attended to by the super.

This community was developed in 2004, so all the apartments are brand spanking new and have open floor plans and large windows. My living area is about 1800 square feet. In addition there is a huge unfinished basement for storage. At $1900 per month, this is a little over a dollar per square feet (excluding basement) and thus reasonably priced. Total utility bills are indeed higher than other apartments, with an average of $150 for gas and electricity, and $30 for water and sewage per month. In the winters expect to pay $250 for gas and electricity per month.

I have not seen many young people (student types) in this community; the place is quiet and you can relax after a hard day at work without worrying about loud music or party noises from neighbors. I see most people in the community working 8-6 jobs and having a similar lifestyle.

Cablevision provides the cable TV, high speed Internet (10 Mbps), and VoIP phone services. I have not had any issues with them. I have not seen many dish antennas and I guess satellite TV is not popular in this community.

Because the community is close to route 10, there is the issue of highway noise. The patio is useless and it is not possible to open windows that face the highway. However, the advantage of being close to the highway is that you can be on highway 287 in 5 minutes.

I have lived in several rental communities over the last 8 years and I have to say that for the money this has been the best experience so far. Highly recommended.
