great place to live ( over a year ago )

i've been at treetops for a year now and i love it. they maintenence is very timely and doesnt ask questions. i had a flooding problem very early in the morning and they were here in less than 5 minutes...similarly on weekends the super comes very quickly. there are always open parking spots, and it is very convienient/quiet area (a five minute walk to the park/river if you like to run, picnic). the rutgers bus stop is right behind my apt so if i ever needed to take the bus to new brunswick downtown its really easy (i am NOT a student, either). the apartments are nice, too...they are huge for one person. <P>

I have lived in this apartment complex for over 1.5 years now. I recently moved from a 2 bedroom apartment to a 1 bedroom apartment here. These are nice apartments, but i have had some trouble in my new 1 bedroom apartment of late. A lot of things like: the shower curtain rod, the washer, the knobs on some of the doors, one of the cooking units have broken down in my apartment within the first 15 days. They have a nice storage closet in the balcony, but it was extremely dirty when we moved in. It's been 4 days since we complained, and no one has still come to clean it.
Pros:
1) Nice, clean carpeted apartments
2) Ample parking
3) Washer/Dryer in-house
4) Safe community
5) Close to Rutgers busstop - very easy to get to the New Brunswick train station or some other places around Rutgers.
6) Peaceful and quiet.
Cons:
1) Management slow to respond to repair requests sometimes
2) Not all things might be functional when you move in. Better make sure you inspect the apartment thoroughly before moving in.
3) Heating is based on electricity and not gas. Also, the washer/dryer consume a lot of electricity. You have to be very careful, otherwise your PSEG bill can go quite high ( a few hundred $ a month!)
4) A bit on the expensive side (considering the fact that they don't pay for gas/elec.)
5) The heating/AC units are noisy and old.
