My wife and I needed a place to live right after we got married and after searching, we liked Presidio's layouts the best, so we figured why not? After living there for a year, I would not recommend it to anyone else for the price. When you pay $730 a month for rent in Albuquerque you expect something better. It's also pretty sad when you can buy a house, and with a decent down payment, your mortgage/insurance/taxes are not much more per month then your rent was. In other words, living at Presidio seems like a waste when you're just throwing your money away and have nothing to show for it. My biggest complaint is in regards to management. They do not really seem to know what they are doing. The few times I went into the office with simple questions I was met with inexperience and vague answers which I could not trust as being accurate. There are a few things that bug me, particularly that the maintenance crew cannot seem to figure out how to keep the sprinklers watering the grass/plants and NOT my car. I now have calcium spots on my car, and if I ever hope to get them off, I will have to have the car completely detailed. Another thing - last year when it snowed 2.5 feet in 2 days, it took the staff almost a week to hire someone to come through and clear the parking lot and sidewalks when other apartment complexes in the area had been clear for 3-4 days. Third, when I put in a request for maintenance to come fix our bathtub, it took over a week for them to even call me back just to set up an appointment. Things like this tell me the staff is not doing their jobs, so why am I paying so much to live there? To their credit, they do seem to be interested in making upgrades to the complex such as repainting this past year and re-doing the pool area. The quality of the apartments is alright. It is better than most, but still not worth such high rent for a 700 square foot one bedroom apartment. Noise isn't too bad, but that is more a circumstance of getting lucky and having older neighbors than a staff that sets a precedent for good behavior from its residents. The apartments are not insulated all that well (in other words, expect higher than average utility bills). Overall, it was not a horrible experience, but for the money, I would tell anyone who asked me to look elsewhere.
