Apartment Review for Core Vistas

My family and I lived here for over 2 years. Most of the office staff is indifferent to any requests that we ever had and they never returned telephone calls unless you stated that you wanted to rent a unit - they caught on to this attempt for a return call pretty quickly. Afterwards, no other calls were returned - we would have to wait at the office for someone to show up.

We were shown a great model apartment - looked beautiful. When we showed up for a move in, we were taken to another apartment, stating that they made a mistake and had already rented the nice place. We were finally given another apartment - it was dirty and gross. We shampooed the carpet before even moving in and the carpets were absolutely nasty. We made sure to shampoo again.

At one time, for nearly 6 months, our entire building went without exterior lighting - this made navigating stairs extremely dangerous - especially with us being on the 3rd floor. Multiple calls to get the lights repaired went unheaded until codes enforcement was called. The dishwasher didn't work from day 1. They repaired it shortly after our move in and then it broke again within 5 days. The maintenance men said - "oh, that's just a poor machine, the whole complex has problems with them."

Same went for the laundry doors - they were fixed 3 times and 3 times they fell on one of the family members - we got the same 'dish washer' message from maintenance. Poor service.

We have finally moved - thank goodness. Even to the end, the office staff was sly. We turned in the apartment in better shape than what we received it, with even a thank you for maintaining the place so well. They decided to keep $100, for keys (even though we returned them) and for minor items that were cleaner that how we received them. It was bogus. I called 4 times to inquire about why they received the apartment by stating that all was well and looked great, but yet, when the deposit was returned, it was shorted with a nickel and dime approach. Its too bad, because it was a convenient place to be in town, but the quality of living there was really poor.
