Our Review for La Paloma Apartments
The La Paloma Apartments are located in the north-eastern sector of Albuquerque. Sitting between Prospector's Ridge and Arroyo Del Oso Park, the complex is conveniently located within walking distance of a local Whole Foods. La Paloma is well liked for its beautiful green grounds and an excellent view of the city. Rent may begin in the mid 700's range for 1 bedroom apartments, but as part of the community you will have access to a fitness center and outdoor pool. Some people have had issues with the management but many others have had the opposite experience. With up to date amenities and appliances, La Paloma overall is a great place to live for the modern Albuquerque resident.

We have lived here for 3 1/2 months. The office staff have been awesome, from the moment we walked in to apply until this very day. I have called multiple times regarding maintenance issues and every time within 24 hours they are taken care of. They even email to let you know that it has been done. Our building is very quiet and we've had no issues with safety. (we have 2 children)
I have no complaints whatsoever. I find the negative reviews odd, only because I have had the exact opposite experience. I just want a good review on here for them too because so far we love them.

THE SURRONDINGS ARE NICE. HOWEVER, IN THE PAST MONTH I THERE HAS BEEN A SHOOTING AND THE GUY BLEED TO DEATH ON THE PROPERTY..THE APT MANAGERS NEVER ADDRESSED THE INCIDENT EVEN THOUGH IT WAS ON THE NEWS AND PRETENDED THAT IT NEVER HAPPENED. A MONTH LATER A TENANT WAS HELD AT GUNPOINT AND ROBBED. AGAIN MANAGEMENT DID NOT SEND OUT ANY LETTERS TO ACKNOWLEDGE THESE INCIDENTS. ALL THESE HAPPENED DURING DAY LIGHT HOURS WHEN LITTLE CHILDREN ARE ON WALKING AROUND THE PREMISES. A LACK OF CARE!!!!! JUST WANT THERE MONEY. WOULD GIVE A THUMBS DOWN.

Please don't listen to all the bad reveiws. La Paloma is the best place i've lived!
I read one reveiw that said there are bums sleeping in the picnic areas and walking around asking for money and a place to sleep? I have never seen anyone like that around the property, no criminals live here, the office staff explains when you decide to live here that they do a criminal background on everyone and you can't live here if you don't pass that, and maybe the person that wrote that reveiw is just a big liar!
I moved into my apartment in June 2008 and everything is wonderful. I got one of La Paloma's upgraded apartments, and everything looks beautiful, new and overall classy.
I love having people come by so I can show off the beautiful place I call home.
It is really quiet here, and if for some reason there is noise, I call security (only have called them one time) and they come out super quick and take care of the problem.
I do enjoy the close shopping and places to eat. I also occationally use the fitness center and pools which is always clean and usually never busy?
When I do call or go into the office, they are very nice and get the job done. Maint. guys are always friendly and helpful.
I would recommend this place to anyone who is ready to live in a nice place and wants to keep it this way.

I moved into La Paloma just after the new management took over in 09/08 and they are all very professional. The new owners are renewing the complex both inside and out. The new look is absolutely beautiful and since this location is so central, I couldn not be happier. My service requests are handled same or next day. I have referred several people to live here at La Paloma. It is a great value and location.

I highly recommend La Paloma. The location is awesome and the complex is beautiful and well taken care of. My daughter lives here in another section of the property from me and I love that we can visit each other, but still have our own space.

Nice place to live, although it is getting noisy!

The complex has recently become very noisy -- youngsters with very loud car stereos drive back and forth in front of my apt several times a day. The upstairs neighbor has been very noisy at night for 3 months now, so I have trouble sleeping -- and mgmt doesn't seem to be able to do much about it. Strongly suspect gang and/or drug activity on the south central side of the property. Yes, I have reported it. Several times.

Aside from these problems, this property is decent, and I do like living here. It could really be improved with a real crime watch program. I have lived in apt complexes with drug labs and gangs before I moved to this city, and I do not want to see this happen here.

#1. I never did have a parking space by my apartment. #2. This place was ALWAYS drafty! My PNM bill was higher then my friend who owns a house! Always cold. #3. Staff and maintanence was good/average. They would come and try to fix problems. Some problems however could not be fixed. I would have to ask them to come and do things that a complex should automatically do one-two times a year. However the head of maintanence is a really smart, nice guy-who knows what good customer service is. Office staff-some are really nice....... #4. They do charge you for carpet cleaning and a parking cover space. #5. The pool and jacuzzi is great! They took good care of it. #6. They have NO pantry for your food-that was a bummer! #7. Where I lived, it was quite. #8. Overall, for what you get, La Paloma is over priced. #9. I did feel safe-lighting could BE BETTER-ALL OVER the complex!!!! #10. Lastly-U BETTER LIKE CATS! There are a bunch of them around-day and night. Oh-and be sure to stay out of the complex streets-the twenty somethings speed through the complex and care little whether there is someone in the road or not......
