Rude Staff and Crooked Behavior




The Retreat was a horrible place to live. Shown a place with "upgrades", being told I would get that, but got old equipment and no microwave. Everything was made cheap. Staff was rude and would not respond to questions. They lost copies of several pieces of personal info and never found it, yet threatened me that I wasn't in compliance and would be given notice if I didn't jump immediately and given them the info again. Multiple requests to find my very private info from before were never responded to and I don't know whatever happened to it. At leaving, the apartment was left as it had been received, and it was clean. One staff came through a couple weeks before, we asked if they saw anything we needed to do and was not told of anything. The day before we turned the keys in, called and left a phone message, and again the day of, asking someone to come and check out the apt one more time to make sure it was okay. Never got a call. When we went to the office, they said they were too busy, even though there were 2 staff and no customers present. They docked the refund an extra $80 saying it was because the oven wasn't clean enough and that they had to replace carpet. When asked for details, they refused and said they had a right to declare beyond normal wear and tear (it wasn't). Attempts were made to resolve through direct inquiry and through the BBB. They refused. This will have to go to small claims court. DO NOT LIVE HERE!! It's not worth the money. They failed to fix the air conditioning for 6 weeks and refused to respond to all inquiries. Look anywhere else but here.
