Apartment Review for The Villas At La Privada

We lived at La Privada for over a year. When the year was up we renewed our lease for 6 months. Big Mistake. We lived on the 3rd floor and one night the neighbor on the 1st floor stabbed his friend in the face with a knife. At one point I heard loud noise outside so I checked it out and saw the neighbor with 2 kitchen knives behind his back. Yeah, I felt so safe. The worse part was my wife was coming up late in the evening when this occurred due to work and she had our small kids with us. I went to the management the next morning and they didnt seem to care. The manager advised me they wouldnt received the police report for about a week.

One day in broad daylight our spare tire was stolen from the back of the car. It was attached to the back gate of the vehicle. I later found the lug nuts under another car. I found out from another tenant their spare tire was also stolen at the complex.

The last neighbor we had below us had a dog that was extremely loud all the time. You could hear when the dog ran around and barked all the time. This was the last straw and we broke our lease and moved out.

We left that apartment cleaner then when we moved in. They actually only charged us for the cleaning of the carpet which I expected to happen. They also kept our entire deposit for breaking the lease and still are after us for almost $500.

At the time we lived their they rarely had the security gates closed. They kept telling me it wasnt their fault because cars would purposely run into the gate so it would come off the track. Well it may not be their fault but it sure as heck is not my fault and they owe it to us to have it fixed as soon as they know it is broken.

Overall this is a terrible place to live and I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. This is only a handful of things that happened to us but there were several more. I intend to fight this bill that has gone to collections and file suit against the apartment complex. They want a fight well they are going to get one. I hope they have enough money to pay for my attorney when they lose in court. GOOD LUCK LA PRIVADA!!!
