Apartment Review for Blue Barns Apartments

These apartments are in a nice area, with a landlord who appears nice (like most) until you sign the lease. I moved into one of their new "fully renovated" apartments, only to find that some cabinets were not installed properly, a fan was never installed in the bathroom, the main door that was supposed to be in within 2 weeks of me moving in has yet to be installed (10 months later!), and more. The landlord neglects to return any attempts to contact him regarding health issues- we have mold in the bathroom due to the lack of a fan, the landlord has missed payments to the trash removal service multiple times, making the garbage pile up for weeks, and on the rare occasion that he has sent maintenance over to fix a problem, they have done an unsatisfactory job cleaning up after themselves. The ONE time they fixed the wiring for our microwave, I was cleaning up dust all over the apartment for a week, and we still have marks in the ceiling where they didn't patch up their work. The only way I can get anything out of the landlord is by calling the town and filing a formal complaint. Since I have moved in, every one of my neighbors has moved out as soon as their lease was up, and I plan to do the same. If you are considering this apartment complex, PLEASE do yourself a favor and try to talk to one of the residents about how awful it is living here!
