I lived at Meadow Wood for 30 years when it was Fairfield Towers. It was a nice place to live back in the day and it is still a decent neighborhood. However don't let anyone fool you, it is East New York! They can call it Spring Creek or Gateway all they like but you are still living in what is known as East New York. Also don't let people tell you that the neighborhood is going to go through some amazing transition in just a few short years. It still has a long way to go. I also advise you to do your research about the surrounding homes, apartment buildings, complexes and businesses being built within the area. It is going to be jam packed with people. So you have to ask yourself do you want to invest in a place that will be surrounded by buildings and businesses. Again do your homework. When it was formally Fairfield Towers there were many problems because the owners of the complex stopped taking care of the property and let it deteriorate. Do your homework. I have family and friends who still reside there and they noticed with all the work being done to change to Condos, they have not seen work permits. Do your homework. If you search you will find that there are legal cases against Meadow Wood as well as some questionable practices. The school district served in this area is district 19. It used to be the top district but that has long since changed. Do your homework. I also knew someone who was working to fix the apartments for change to condos and the things that I heard they were allowed to do would amaze you. You have to remember, to truly create a place that has the top quality with great craftsmanship they would have had to gut the complex to the bones and start fresh. Unfortunately, that would be too costly so the quicker and cheaper way is to make cosmetic changes. Do your homework. Your research should include looking into the history of the complex before it became condos, look into the dynamics of the neighborhood and what is yet to come for the area. In the end don't rely on someone else to do research on a major financial decision for you. Do YOUR homework!

I've read the negative comments and I have to disagree. I bought my unit a year ago and I love it. Yes, there are some wear&tear after a while, but that's all apartments. However, if something breaks, maintenance fixes it the same day. Serious! That's service I like. The condos inside look beautiful. The grounds are safe at night and peaceful during the day. I love watching the sunset from my balcony. The sunlight fills my place with warm serenity, as if on vacation...but I'm at home. Security is great. I live in section B which is further from Pennsylvania. The section by Pennsylvania however has more conveniences as far as shopping, etc.. Section B however, is quieter and nicer, but you will need a car or bike, unless you like walking 10 minutes to a store. But, I love meadowwood. I always enjoy coming home. It relaxes me. P.S. there are no bed bugs :)

Once again here is a sales rep from the the sales office posting a review to entice buyers with lies. What this person is not telling you is that the renovations look good for about a couple of months, the unit I purchased was renovated in the spring and *purchased in the summer and once the weather turned cooler the it's like everything started to contract and pull apart and now there are open spaces around every door frame even the base boards because they used cheap calking. As for *clean, keep in mind that you are living amidst a majority of people who do not have a condo mentality as far as they are concerned the place is still Fairfield Towers and they treat it as such, people spit on the elevator floor, they scratch graffiti on the elevator wall, smoke cigarettes in the laundry room, you find litter on the hallway floors and it never fails that when ever I bring a guest over I will be embarrassed by one of the aforementioned. As for it being quiet, I have noisy neighbors who make noise all through the evening and through the night and even though I call security they still continue with what sounds like stomping and bumping heavy objects and loud music all the way to 2:am. I can't enjoy my balcony because they will come out on to the balcony also which is only has a thin glass partition dividing it so I hear them talking all loud drinking and cursing with no concern for quiet and even when I go inside a close the balcony door I can still here them. The walls are so thin in these units it's ridiculous, I can hear other peoples conversations from, loud talking out in the halls, other peoples doors slamming all times of the night, but you won't know this because the the slick sales reps show the place in the afternoon when the cleaning people have just finished sweeping up and the all nighters are still sleeping it off ask about seeing a unit after 4m when the maintenance staff have gone home or come on the weekend when the staff is very few and you'll see what I'm talking about it's far from neat. On some floors where there are units that have not been renovated the ventilation in the hall is poor and when you step off the elevator you are greeted by a number of apartment smells and the carpet is filthy, maintenance thinks because they vacuum it it's clean, but any carpet in a high traffic area has to be washed sometime, how are you going to have stains trailing from apartments to the garbage chute because people just drag garbage down the hall leaking all types of foul liquids and think nothing of it and maintenance comes along and vacuums over it and calls it clean. These slick sales reps will have you thinking that you will be living amongst a majority of new owners and every one is nice and quiet, the first thing I asked about was the noise factor because I had never lived in such a building with so many units and the slick sales rep assured me that the walls were solid concrete and you wouldn't be disturbed by other people, that was not the truth, the sales had me thinking I was getting in on something that was going to turn out to be clean, quiet and all this sales rep is stating and yes I'm saying sales rep because you would have to be lower than used car salesman willing to sell his mother to tell someone what is in that review. I look at the sales people in that office as money hungry animals praying on people in a real estate market that is not doing well.

These condos are just great! The place is clean and fresh and the renovations are beautiful. The homes look better on the inside than the outside so you can just imagine. This place is unbelievable for the price! Their renovation includes granite countertops and beautiful hard wood cabinets. I just closed on my unit in April and LOVE it!! People who leave negative comments obviously do not see the investment potential for this property. Go rent and throw your money away or check out MeadowWood. I will be laughing at all of you when the equity on my apartment doubles in the future.

It amazes me that the person that left the comment before me still continues to live there. Wouldn't it make sense to leave if you are that unhappy and the buildings are close to the projects? So what?? It is better to buy than throw your money away renting. I have seen the condos and they are beautifully renovated. Bamboo floors, granite countertops, beautiful modern cabinets. Go check out the units for yourself people. Don't listen to negative people who complain and still continue to rent there.
