It'S Not What I Expected...

My husband found this place as a last resort, basically. I was moving down soon, and he had to find a place for us to move into. From the outside, things look nice. And at first, the office staff seemed nice. But it's just a mask.

Our first few months here went great. Not really any problems. And then things just exploded.

Safety is pretty good, seeing how you're out in the middle of nowhere. Parking is okay, but they don't bother to mark any parking spots, and so there's issues with that when other people have people over. It looks nice on the outside, but you get inside, and you can tell that these apartments are very cheaply made.

The office staff SUCKS. They're RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL! You call them to have a question answered, and they start defending everything they own. When it comes to maintenance, I've told the people at the office about some things, and they said they'd come and fix it, and I have yet to see them get off of their high horse and come take care of it.

The apartment itself has carpet, yes, BUT there's NO cushion. It's just a slab of carpet on concrete. So it's best to walk around with shoes, at least they give you some padding.

The kitchen is SMALL, you have virtually NO cabinet space, you get a small stove/oven, and you don't get a double sink. So in order to do dishes, you basically need a basin to work with. It's just pathetic.

The doors are put on in a way that there's still cracks big enough for spiders and other bugs to crawl through. When we first moved here, we had an issue with spiders. So my husband and I went out and baught some puffy tape stuff to put around the border of the door in the bedroom so nothing can come in from outside.

Their cleaning lady doesn't do much for cleaning. When we moved in here, it looked like crap. I had to go over EVERYTHING and re-clean it before I'd use anything. Things in this apartment are very dated.

The rent is too high for what is given to us (and they keep raising it, and if you question it, they'll come back and raise it another $20 or so!).

There isn't any insulation, so you can hear EVERYTHING they neighbors say and do. Because you basically have your wall boards, and then they throw up panneling from the 1970s.

And if you find a place to live, even if you still have time left on a month's rent that you paid for already (and should still have til the end of the month), they'll move new people in. Getting double rent on that month. Which is illegal. If you left anything behind when they move someone new in, they'll take it home or give it away, and as for your mail, that gets taken out of the mailbox so the new people moving in don't have any problems with that. Which is also illegal.

This company is filled with a bunch of crooks. It's just pathetic. They'll try to rip you off and take your money. It's not worth the trouble.

They'll be nice to you right up front, but once you've called them on ONE thing, everything goes downhill.

People move out of here just as fast as they move in. So you're likely to get an apartment if you call, that is if you want to deal with ignorant people taking your money. Go for it.

And the 'landlord' of an apartment complex isn't supposed to rely any information out to other tenants. Yet she's told a few of us who she's evicting, and what she's going to do with who. And she's gone so far as to tell other tenants that, oh, this person down here is starting rumors about you, and those two aren't good people. Hm. They must not be good people because they call you out on everything, huh?

We've been trying to move for a while now, we don't want to have to give these people any more money. They don't deserve it. If you have the chance to get into base housing. DO IT. All the good places in this city fill up fast, so if you don't want to live in a dump, get into base housing as soon as you can.
