Unfortunately, this review is going to reflect poorly on the apartments in general, as most of my rental experience was with the previous management staffs (this is the third since I moved in). The current staff is very helpful, prompt and courteous.
I could make a list of all the things wrong, but I'll just touch on the biggies.
One month after I moved in, my apartment was broken into and and robbed. For the police report, the value of the stolen goods was approximated at $8,000.00. Fortunately, that was the only incidence of theft that I was personally involved with, though many of my neighbors had similar stories.
When questioned about the safety of the area in general, the inspecting police officer actually laughed and stated that there were few areas more prone to crime than the one I had moved to. The officer said that there was rampant "gang" activity in the area and suggested that I leave nothing in my car that is of any value at all. He further advised to secure my apartment's sliding glass door as well as I could as that is the thieves' main/easiest point of entry.
The apartment itself wasn't of bad quality, nor the area in general - the grounds keeping is actually quite good.
Also, on three occasions, I received packages delivered to the main office that were either opened or the inside goods were taken outright. I can't say that the staff was the source of the theft (this was all PRIOR to the current management) but three packages is quite a track record. Since he new staff has taken over, nothing had been taken.
