Apartment Review for The Ashland Apartments

Where do I begin? The staff is ok. Everyone seems nice. That doesn't mean they can get the job done. It is pet friendly which is good if you have a pet. But when I moved in there was so much pet hair, I had to call and ask them to clean the carpet again. Seriously, there was pet hair painted into the walls. There are no over head lights, the carpet had pet stains that kept coming back. There were several small repairs that you could tell maintenence had just thrown together. No remodeling seemed to have a professional touch. My blinds were filthy. I complained for 5 or six months before they replaced them. The vent rattled so much when the air/heat was on, I could barely hear my television. The dishwasher may as well not been there because it was so cheap it rarely cleaned anything I put in it. My ac went out religiously because nothing has been updated on this property for a long time.
You can't send any outgoing mail unless you drive/walk up to the office and leave it at the front desk. Really? And your mailbox may be attached to a neighboring building, so that's another hike. Plus there is only on trash compactor at the front of the property. Almost everything is inconvenient.
The office has shady practices even though I believe, DEEP inside, they are nice people. They may me rewrite a check for rent, kept the old check, and cashed THAT for rent the next month without even consulting me. And 3 months after I've moved out I am still waiting on my deposit.
Be careful and know your rights because the front office will blame everything on corporate. They will not call you back under any circumstance. To get something done they will need to see your angry face or recieve a tongue lashing on the phone. They will NOT, I repeat, will NOT respond in an adequate fashion to ANY of your complaints unless you are stern and badgering. Which is quite sad...because they SEEM like such nice people.
