The property had a small fire over the weekend (nothing major just a car whose engine decided to smoke), but my neighbors were out, helping each other, calling the fire dept and the manager. The manager and two other staff got here just as the fire department did and everything was handled well. The staff stayed a good while after the fire department and most of the residents had levft, jsut making sure everyone was ok and good. It's the small stuff that matters and how people handle it.
I liked knowing that my neighbors really do look out for each other and that even though they weren't at work, the staff cared too.

I moved in almost a month ago and am really happy with the apartment especially at the rent rate I got. I pay less than what I did at my last aparment, got a bigger apartment here and new upgrades. I have black appliances, which matches my own kitchen stuff and even though I pay gas here, the water bill is def cheaper. PLUS, at my last place, it took weeks to get maintenance to fix anything, but the one time I had something wrong, the guy was here the same day.
I know they do resident activities and stuff here but I haven't gone yet. They have a Zumba class coming up, but I suck at dancing, so I'm def not going to that one. But I'll be at the egg hunt.

I have a big dog... a really big dog and it was hard to find a 1 bedroom apartment that would take a Great Pyrenees. Then I came here! They asked what kind of dog he is and told me that his size wasn't a problem. PLUS I GOT A DISCOUNT ON MY PET FEE since I had adopted him from a local shelter. The area around my apartment and the whole property is great for a pet owner - completely grass and trees.
I would recommend here to any pet owner. The rent isn't the cheapest, but it's definitely affordable and they let me bring my puppy. Couldn't be happier.

I told the staff I would write a review for them re: how happy I was about my maintenance work orders. I've lived at this property for a long time - before it was even The Ashland, back when it was still Bent Tree. I've seen about 10 different maintenance guys work here and our newest maintenance person is my absolute favorite. The work orders are done within a day or so, and if it is something major or urgent, he's right there in just a few minutes.
I left my house in a rush a few days ago an forgot to turn off my toaster oven. I had to call the office and ask if they could send maintenance down to turn it off for me. When I got home that night, the toaster oven was off and unplugged and I had a note on the counters telling me that they had oiled my deadbolt too so that i could turn the key easier.
FOr an older person with arthritis, this was heaven sent and I truly felt blessed to have this type of care.

I moved here about two and a half years ago from Atlanta for a job. There's been a change or two (I guess the property got sold last year) but half of the staff has stayed the same.
Maintenance isn't bad. It may take a couple of days, but they get there and get it done.
I hate the cable company. I get Sh#t for service with the property's Direct TV and I can't get Time Warner, which sucks.
The only complaint I have about living here is that the first time I redid my lease, I got a month free.
Now, they don't give away anything except a carpet clean. So, that's what I got.
My apartment is big for tyhe mo ney, clean, and the neighbors are basically ok.
No major complaints. Just want Time Warner.

I'm moving out of state in a few months and wanted to read up on some apartment complexes in my new area, and I found the ratings about where I live now.
I was a little more than shocked.
The last couple of negaive reviews are obviously written by people who either didn't want to pay rent for their home or didn't like apartment living. Guess what, people - it's an apartment complex. You signed a lease just like I did and you toured your apartment before you moved in.
I personally love it here.
Have lived here for a little over a year and a half and am only moving to go school and work up north.
My apartment was great, and yes, while there were a few maintnenace issues over the time I lived here, I expected that and they were handled well and quickly. I've never had a problem with the leasing staff or the manager. All three seemed really nice, always remembered my name and made sure I got my packages when I was out of town.
I just think it's funny that someone who doesn't pay their rent or doesn't like their neighbors thinks it's the management's fault.
I'm really happy here. Good location for students and work commuters, the pool, pet areas, clubhouse and new gym are great. No complaints. AT ALL!

we always read reviews before we buy or lease or anything and some of the reviews for Ashland don't match up with what my husband and I found when we came to see the complex. We just moved into a two bedroom apartment with our two small kids. No problems so far. We can't get Time Warner Cable, but that's the only complaint. No maintenance issues, the apartment looks great and no problems with neighbors - we are on the first floor too. It's nice to be somewhere where they have stuff going on even for the kids - we've gone to a wine tasting and an egg hunt so far all in one month. No Complaints!

I really liked leasing an apartment in a community that was strict on their criminal background checks. I have two kids, so knowing that my neighbors didn't have a criminal record really made me feel better. Plus, the schools for this apartment are awesome. I've only had one maintenance situation that came up but the maintenance guys were out to my house realy quick and had it taken care of. I also really like that the office staff knows who I am when I come in to pay rent or drop off mail. I really like living here and have told my friends about it too.

I lived her a few years ago and just moved back into the area and came here. The name of the property is different now, but at least one of the staff was the same, so it was good to see a familiar face. The upgrades are really nice and they told me they just got bought a few months ago. It's finally nice to see money going back into the place because when I left, they weren't even cutting the grass. I got to move back into the same floorplan that I left and couldn't be happier. Great staff, easy commuting location (I travel to Winston-Salem) and I like having a reliable apartment.

I moved in about a year ago and while I have had amintenance issues come up, the staff have handled it. I know they replaced their maintenance team a few months ago and the new guys are great. I haven't had the problems that others wrote about and am planning on renewing my lease in 2 months. They just got new ownership and the office staff are talking about new projects coming up. I really like the different activities and parties that the staff plan.

I lived at The Ashland for a yr, and it was okay at first. Then me and my roommate started having maintenance issues that they never resolved. Apparently, our water heater was leaking into the unit below, so they replaced the unit. After they replaced the water heater, the only way we got hot water was if the heat was on. They NEVER fixed it. Imagine it being June and the friggin heat being on, it sucks! We called maintenance often, and they always said nothing was wrong with it. Another drawback is the cable and internet companies you have to deal with. Time Warner Cable is not offered at the complex, so you have the choice of a satellite company. No one told us this beforehand, and our unit did not have "a direct view to the southern sky", so our only option is DirecPath. This company was HORRIBLE! The worse. We were sent through loops dealing with this company. Our cable and internet did not work half the time, and it would take them a week or more to finally come check it out. Most of the people working for the company are foreign and cannot understand you enough to help solve your problem. To top it all off, the service was expensive. The Ashland offers nice apartments, but the maintenance and companies they deal with suck horribly. And the office staff seems really nice but will milk you for everything you are worth (beware of Loretta). It's not too bad, but I would not recommend this place.

I lived at The Ashland for only a year and enjoyed my stay. The Office was helpful and went out of there way to say hi and ask how things were not only with my apartment but with my family as well. We bought a home in Kernersville or we would have stayed there longer....... would recomend it to any one looking for a long term home or even just for a temp place like we used it for.
