I have lived at two Goldoller owned apartments in Greenville. Tar River Estates, and Wilson Acres. Wilson Acres was a horrible choice for me- the apartments are small, old, and my light bill was over $200 every month. Also, my maintenance orders never got done. They went through a staff change and the new staff is rude and judgemental. I couldn't take it amymore and moved across the street to Tar River Estates. The maintenance staff is nice and responsive, the office staff is helpful and they genuinely care. For a few dollars extra a month, i am completely satisfied. I never have problems with bugs, and my friends don't get towed. Tar River Apartments are a great choice.

I have lived here for 2 years now and some of these reviews are not true at all. the staff is nice, my electric bill has never been over 70 dollars for a two bedroom apartment, and the rent is cheap compared to other places in greenville who will nickel and dime you, and the staff is rude, and they aren't even close to campus! i love living here because of the location, close enough to downtown, and they have the ECUSTA bus here too. i've never had a problem here.
i have them four stars because the apartments are definitely older, i think they were built in the 80s, but they're still well maintained. the parking lots do flood if there is a lot of rain but oh well.

i plan on living here through the rest of my college career

My daughter has lived at Tar River Estates for 2 years and recently moved out after she graduated. Before she lived at Tar River Estates she had horrible experiences at two other different apartments in Greenville (nonexistant rude staff, bug problems, overpriced apartments, really high utilities, etc.) We couldn't have had a better experiece with the staff, service, and quality at Tar River Estates. Management has always been extremely courteous and helpful throughout her entire stay, we even recieved our security deposit in full faster than we anticipated. The maintenance team is very professional and courteous also- her dishwasher wasn't working properly and they replaced it with a new one within 2 days. My other daughter will be attending ECU next year and we aren't even considering other properties.

The buildings are older than some of the new complexes in Greenville but my roommate and I like living here. Bedroom and living space is a lot bigger than other places I've been and it's nice being close to campus. Probably the best part is not dealing with the immature spoiled stereotypical college kids. We live in a 2 bedroom and our rent and electric bill combined is never more than 450 each. Office staff is always nice and works with you, another nice change if you've lived in apartments before. Every service request we put in usually gets taken care of same day. Glad we chose here its been nice staying in one place for all of college.

I have lived at Tar River Estates for over 2 years, moving from a 1 bedroom to now a 2 bedroom with washer/dryer in both. I love it here! The units are pretty big compared to most places. They allow you to paint, hang pictures and personalize as much as you want as long as you just primer and fill holes beforr moving out. I don't plan on moving for a long time. My husband, big dog and I couldn't be happier with our choice of living here. The dog park is walking distance, which is so awesome. ECU campus is maybe a 10 minute walk, 5 or so blocks. I would and do recommend Tar River Estates to anyone! If anyone has a "bug problem" here, call the office. Doc Moore will spray as much as you want/need. The office staff handles all business professionally. Whatever we need, they do make sure it gets done in a timely fashion. If anyone needs respect and a thank you, the office staff definitely deserves it for all of the jerkoff people whom demand and yell about the most ridiculous stuff. Hopefully all the good reviews can out weigh the bad because this place is 10x better than any other apartment complex in town. Its so quiet and charming with so much to do. The greenway is right behind it to go workout if you don't want to goto Tar River Esates gym. 5 stars! Take a tour and see for yourselves.

I have lived at Tar River for 2 years and don't plan on moving anytime soon. I have lived at many other complexes in Greenville during undergrad and I've seen it all. After reading the negative reviews, I needed to speak up. We have never had any issues with bugs, and they DO spray because I have been home when they came. I love being close to campus, by the dog park, and I'm not one of a thousand tenants living here. When I go into the office they know me by name and are always helpful, and that really means a lot. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone I know with confidence. It's a shame these other reviews give them a bad name.
