Dunhill Trace Has Gone Way Downhill

My husband and I lived at Dunhill Trace for 3 years before leaving to buy a house. When we first moved in the office staff was friendly and very helpful. It was a great deal for the room we had, and the apartment itself was very nice – 3 years later, it is a very different story. It was never a good deal for the space after the first year – every time a lease was up they would hike up the rent to some ridiculous number. We always found ourselves having to negotiate just the get them to decrease the increase a little. The office staff has gone WAY down hill. No one in that office is trustworthy. Every time I would go into the office to ask a question they would roll their eyes at me, and were never helpful.

The walls were paper thin - while we were living there, we had to move our bed to the opposite side of the room because we could ALWAYS hear the neighbors arguing long into the night. The favorite pastime of all the kids in the neighborhood was to bounce basketballs on the wood stair cases (which is incredibly loud), and just sitting in the middle of the stairs so that no one could get around them. Neither of the pools ever looked clean. The equipment in the exercise room was always broken, the air conditioner in there was broken for a long time, not to mention the fact that you couldn’t go in there without a bunch of kids deciding that the equipment was a great place to just sit and hang out.

While the maintenance staff was always on top of things and very helpful, it would take forever for the office staff to get the requests to the maintenance staff…and once they did the office staff usually had our apartment number wrong, so they would go to the wrong apartment and just give up.

Moving out has been absolute hell…we have not lived there for four months and we are still receiving bills and nasty letters from them – one threatening to send us to collections after only giving us 8 days notice on what was actually due. When we did our “walk through” on the last day we were told both my maintenance and by the office staff that we had “no charges”. A month and a half later we were receiving their bill. As I paid that, I asked multiple times if that was all or if we owed anything else – I was told we were paid in full – days later I received a notice that we owed a LOT more and they were giving us 8 days to pay before sending us to collections!
