I lived at Woodlake Downs for a year. Every apartment complex has its pros and cons. Office staff did change frequently. The good and bad office staff come and go there but there are still a couple of good people left. Maintenance I never really had a problem with them during my stay. They took about the same time to fix things as everyone else maybe 3 days at the latest.

A few things that I did not like about the complex was that they had every kind of creature there that you can think of. They have spiders, bumble bees in summer, lizards, and frogs but what do you expect the area is very wooded. If you are afraid of nature then this is not the place for you. When I moved they were installing washer and dryer connections in the largest 1 bedroom apartments.

Hint>>> Just because you pay more for an apartment that has been upgraded does not mean that you are getting a better deal. I would check out apartmentratings.com or with residents who live in the complex before I moved anywhere.

I would highly recommend this complex. It has a great Raleigh location, but once home you feel off the beaten path. The neighborhood is quiet and clean. I never had any complaints even when they were doing upgrade construction, about noise or messes or inconvienence One morning I woke up to a broken refridgerator, I called that morning from work and I cam e home that day to a new refridgerator. The staff is very helpful.

Lived here about 8 years. Management team changes fairly frequently, but never had any problems with any of them. When stuff's broke, they fix it. Grounds are clean and well maintained. A few years ago half the laundry facilities were consistantly broken, but they've since fixed that problem (mostly). No crime problems in the 8 years I've been here. I pay about $430 for a 1br, it's a great deal for that price. I've lived in about 9 or 10 apt complexes in my life, this one's probably about the 2nd best (my #1 apt was really good, but sorry folks, it's not in the Raleigh area....) A couple other reviewers say they had problems with management, I strongly suspect their problem was that managment expected them to pay their rent, turn down their stereo, and not trash the grounds, and NO, I don't work for the management....
