Shoddy To The Max

We were told the unit had all new windows, unfortunately all second floor windows do not shut correctly, letting any heat that does manage to surface from the dirty vents to promptly leave. Safety is an issue, as the inside and outside doors do not remain closed, lock properly or function as working doors. Many of the vents contained puzzle pieces, cookies and large quantities of dirt upon move in. Their plastic vent coverings, once cleaned, were in fact white, not yellow. However, I could not repair the breaks or change the heat direction. Ignoring the simple fact that the carpet was not cleaned, it was shoddily laid. The seams were not together when moving from one room to the next and a random staple board was exposed in our daughter’s bedroom. Plaster must have been too costly, as I can see every sheet of drywall and all two screws unreliably holding them. They shift and move with mere thoughts of touching them. I was promised my place to smell of paint and fresh carpet, alas – the tri-color paint attempt gave away the half-assed try at not painting. Thinking the water damage above the kitchen sink may have been a problem, it was apparently not a concern for it was cleverly disguised with the only fresh coat of paint in the townhouse. I dare you to charge me for the peeling paint on the shaking rail. The paint was bubbled and unwrapping before I signed the lease. I’m sure the paint strips could have been a part of a healthy diet for my child. Please hire competent lawn care workers. Unless their job obliges them to cut my cable line, twice, I do not see a need for the current staff. It seemed delightful that we could plant anything outside in our area. Enthused, we grew cat grass. Once it was healthy and full, it was torn out. Shortly after the damage to the surrounding area, it killed our evergreen, which was blissfully removed and never replaced. Come summer I was delighted to find that the AC unit floating in my kitchen window was in fact broken, with the knobs shattered. Sadly I forced to use pliers until the unit completely froze over. Due to the ill-managed work orders, the gutters before winter were never cleaned; which lead to our ceiling collapsing, resulting in excessive water damage and the unfortunate use of a bucket for several months. When an area is defined as quiet it seems askew to hear nightly violent fights. The circuit breaker is unclear, only showing the vague idea of which controls the furnace. Out of curiosity I removed the panel to expose the heater; sticky and dusty, obviously never serviced. When taking a shower I like to pretend I’m in a sinking submarine; it also works as a great timer to use less water. Not a drain in the house works properly and I’m guessing never will. When attempting to seek the only piece of mind this place almost offers, you are forced to leave your already cold shower to stand naked under the smoke detector, frantically waving objects to shut it off. After being told it was a 40 gal water heater, I really would like to question the integrity of the plumbing; after a five minute ice-cold shower, I can still wash my dishes in scolding water. The nests of ants under the carpet were a surprise – good trick. The large gap between our door and frame certainly suffices as mingling with our neighbors. If the heater was in working condition, it would be a problem. Please select appropriate paint for the corresponding areas, like the basement. When it had flooded we discovered just how unsealed it really was. Organization is just a buzz word as far as I’m concerned – the office could not find the correct keys for the rentals nor our set. I’d like to think a caring staff member left housewarming gifts. However, the half-eaten food left in my kitchen was not as welcoming as one may believe.
