Review for Steeplechase Apartments

This is an actual email from my fiance who rented with Steeplechase and then sublet the remaining two months of his lease with Steeplechase's blessing and Steeplechase stated that since my fiance found another tenant they would take him off the lease once his lease expired and put everything in the new tenants name and that the new tenant would be responsible for any bills from the date he moved in:

Email attached: I talked to Heartland regional about Mahmouds water bill and they said there was a $45.69 balance and that 10 days of that was actually some of my bill (approx $12.00) And that $131.40 had just been paid. So I told them that I would go ahead and pay it so I could get my $199 deposit back. Then I called Steeplechase and told them I paid it in full and wanted my deposit back and they said the $131.40 was out of my deposit and that he didn't pay it but that Steeplechase did. They said he stayed past the move out date and they are charging my deposit for that too. So not only did I loose my $199 deposit but I paid the $45.69 balance....HIS BILL!!! And I am trying to get it back but I think with the scam operation that they run, it won't happen.... Not a very good day for me :(

This is just a small example of how Steeplechase does business. My daughter also lives there and it has been a nightmare for her. Maintenance sucks, large dogs, (pit bulls and rotweillers) run loose. After one tenant moved out, his disgusting mattress stayed in the hallway for three months until we pulled it out and threw it in the parking lot.

There is a lady who stands out front with a sign saying "Free Rent"...well, they have to do this because people are catching on. DO NOT RENT FROM STEEPLECHASE or The Conner Group! Also, it's a good idea not to sublet because there are not too many honest people out there!
