I've been living in the same building in Clifton Gaslight for three years. I've had a fantastic experience renting here until HMS took over at the end of 2007. They broke my lease by sending repairmen into my unit at all hours of the day, entering my bedroom while I slept and purposefully waking my roommate to ask her questions at 7:00 in the morning with no prior notice. I even woke naked in my bed one morning to a repairman STANDING NEXT TO ME AND LOOKING AT ME.
When I complained to my building manager about these things, he blew me off completely, told me that I shouldn't be upset and that he'd "call me back", and never did.
This manager, by the way, was Matt Kotlarczyk.
Also, they installed a new heating system right before winter that went onto my electric bill (my lease guaranteed me free heat) with no plan to reimburse me. It's May now and I'm still fighting for the $450 they owe me.
They also wasted no time raising my rent from $755 to $875 and forcing me to sign a 14 month lease if I cared to continue living in the building.
This company has violated my lease and my rights as a renter in the state of Ohio too many times. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. They will fuck you over.
