The building is old and is quirky, but has some really cool features. They are slooooowwwwlllly making changes to the apartments that don't have tenants. They have recently put up a new 10 foot high iron fence to protect the back entrance and have put in great new windows. The building is right off of Shaker Square which is a great place to catch a movie, eat dinner or walk around.
But, (this is never a good sign) while there are some positive things, the bad clearly outweighs the good. The repairs they make are cosmetic only. There is water damage in several places that not even 10 layers of paint can fix. The door locks are old and the apartments are "secured" by several locked doors that could easily be broken into. I don't trust the maintenance staff and they leave doors open and things lying around all the time. But really the main problem is that management doesn't care. Really, as long as you are paying rent they could care less that your neighbor's toilet is leaking into your apartment or that your storage unit was broken into or that they snow hasn't been shoveled ever. (Really i can count the number of times that they actually shoveled snow on one hand without using most of my fingers-THIS IS NOT AN EXAGGERATION! Do you know how much it snows in Cleveland??) Phone calls and letters don't work and even if you do get to talk to them you can count on an empty promise. Frankly, I am disgusted. Even a little effort to show that they understand and are working on a problem would be great. They have recently changed management companies and it will be interesting to see what happen, but for now STAY AWAY!!
