Not terrible ( over a year ago )

I lived in Acropolis for a year between August of 2010 to August of 2011. It wasn't too bad, but it wasn't fantastic either. Pretty much, you get what you pay for.
Pros: Cheap rent, convenient location, maintenance responded when I had a problem.
Cons: Thin walls (I could hear sexytimes and video games from the apartment above mine), weird people live there (I lived next-door to a guy whose car was COMPLETELY FILLED with trash, I called 911 on a man outside my apartment who was having a seizure (the police thought it was a drug overdose), and someone set their car on fire in the parking lot when they spent like a half hour turning the engine over), the staff was friendly but not super competent, and it kind of smelled weird.

I have lived here a little over 3 years and I really like it. I have lived in several apartment complexes in Columbus over the last 10 years, and this is one of the better ones. Sure it looks pretty crappy on the outside, but it is nicer on the inside. I have never had a problem with maintenance fixing any issues that I've needed. Before I moved in, they replaced the kitchen tile b/c it was "sticky." It's a lot of space for the money and it's a quiet, safe area. My only complaints would be that the walls are very thin on one side, and the lack of parking. Part of the parking issue would be solved if some residents weren't so inconsiderate and parked in actual marked spots instead of making up their own.

You won't find any other apartment this large for such little money. A 3 BR Townhome with full basement is around 750. Pets are allowed and there are a lot of families with kids. I just love this place. Sure, there have been a few issues, but what apartment doesnt have any? Just make sure your maintenance request is in writing, but they are very quick to respnd. Most apartments are being renovated with new floors, new capet, new appliances, etc. It is a really small complex, I think only 75 units, some gardens and townhomes. There are no ammenities here other than laundry rooms, so if you're looking for a pool or fitness room, this isnt the place for you. You can walk practicly anywhere you need to go from here, Kroger is basically across the street, there are several restaurants nearby, and a California Fitness in walking distance as well. Make sure you call the office to set up an appt before heading out though, as their hours are somewhat sporadic. I love it here and will probably stay till we buy a house. <P>
