It’s definitely not the most luxurious place I’ve seen, but like I’ve read, you get what you pay for. My rent is dirt cheap, but I really like my place and the location. I’m currently in a 2 bedroom in the back of the complex. I’m very close to the pool and pond, and my neighbors are nice. I do have the neighbor who throws bags of dirty diapers outside their door and doesn’t always bring the garbage to the dumpsters every day. As long as I don’t smell it and they keep it close to their door, I don’t care enough to ***** about it to management.

I work during the day and I’ve never had any problems with vandalism. There are a ton of speed bumps and pot holes that have torn up my car. I always feel bad asking a friend to come visit me because their car may be swallowed whole by a pot hole. If those get fixed, it won’t be so bad.

The security in the front is a joke. They are only in their hut at night. They are supposed to have everyone buzzed in if they’re guests of a resident, but it’s gets so backed up onto Stelzer that security lets cars through all of the time. I would almost prefer that the gate wasn’t even there. It’s not like the residents are being protected. It’s more of a nuisance to wait for the person in front of you to find there swipe card, and of course jump out f there car to swipe because they didn’t pull close enough to the scanner, and then drive 2 miles an hour to only stop in the middle of the street instead of pulling in a parking space.

The noise level is fairly quiet. There is an occasional party in the summer that is loud, but I’m young and don’t mind. Also, in the summer there are tons of kids, everywhere. I’m close to the pool so it gets noisy during the day, but quiet at night.

There are many parking spaces, but I find that I have to park far away from my apartment daily because the same cars are in the same spots every day. I’m not sure that most of the cars ever move. Actually, I noticed a foot of snow surrounding a car in front of my place for about 2 weeks until the snow melted. There were no tire tracks, so I know that car never moved.

Overall, it’s not that bad. If I had the money I would probably move but for now while I pay off all of my debt, this place will do.

People always leave reviews only to ***** about something. Your paying $585 or $575/ month.. thats ridiculously LOW for an aparment in OHIO in a decent nieghborhood. I lived there for a year and I am not renewing but only bc of space. The apartment is perfect for one person, but with 2 adults the storage and space is limiting and only one bathroom. As a single girl it fit my needs. My nieghbor above me could be very very loud on Sundays, but he referred to himself as a "musician". Once something was mentioned to him to keep the bass down, it was fine. There are a lot of kids (esp. at the pools), and the secruity is basically a joke, but at least its something! I never had my car vandalized, but I also don't leave anything in it for someone to want to take (common sense). I would recommend the place to someone and you can actually find rent as low as $550 if you rent through Easton Park Properties ( found on Craigs List)- the own a few of the apartments back there(the place is HUGE). Maybe thats why I had no issues bc they are more selective as to who they rent to then the general office up front and they only own a few connected to each other. The Speed bumps SUCK, but again, take the good with the bad... its the cheapest you can probably find in Columbus for the quality.

I moved in 3 months ago. It is really quiet, my apartment is very nice. I work during the day and I have never had one problem. Diverse community but everybody minds their own business. Gated at night with security. Maybe some problems in the past but definitely a great place to live.

other than a few maintenance issues and a couple noise complaints from neighbors and some fast drivers through the complex, i have had a really good stay here at Albany Club. I work at Easton and it's been a perfect location for that...and I get most places pretty quick around here...and for what i pay, i couldn't be happier with that. I have had to return calls a couple times to get a door fixed in my apartment but I live here as a single mom and feel safe..I don't walk much at night because I'd just rather not put myself in that position but I feel fine going out late for groceries and such....and Giant Eagle just opened up across the street...
I'm surprised to see so much negative stuff said about it here...I've lived here for 3 years, going on 4 and I've really liked it Hope this helps in deciding on somewhere to live!

So I've lived here for a while and there are things I get annoyed with but I've had that at other places I've rented also...no where is perfect and this place definitely has it's issues but for the price I pay and how close I am to everything, I am overall satisfied with it.

I've heard stories of things that have happened in the past here but that's just it - the past. My friends and I that live here haven't had any situations arise...this place is huge so of course it brings in all kinds of people and it's obvious that not everyone will always get along...there are some great people that we've met and enjoy living around. There will always be some neighbors that you don't get along with or don't care for how they act or live.

Maintenance has gotten a lot better with recent stuff I've needed done...Management is way better since they switched to the new company...The speed bumps do suck but what are you gonna do - they're necessary...The gate is annoying but I am glad knowing that it cuts down on unwanted people here and if there are people that try to come see me that I don't want in they won't be able to get in and come annoy me!!

Overall, I'm satisfied...

I have read all the comments on here about Albany Club well since I have been here I have seen pleanty of improvements they keep this place clean, management is always friendly and yes as with any place we have the young men and women that speed thru the streets and play their music to loud but guess what happens everywhere, management as added a private security company that is always moving around i see them all the time. I love it here gated and monitored what more could you ask for?

I lived in Albany Club for 3.5 years - working full time. Although the entrance gate is a complete and utter disaster for residents and traffic on Stelzer, the complex is a basic, simple, area to live if you're not looking for luxury, but convenience to downtown, easton, and the intererstate.

If you have a family, don't move here. If you want complete peace and quiet - pay ALOT MORE **** money.

We were smart and signed up at a time when they were offering 2 free months on a 14 month lease - they spread out the 2 free months over the term of the lease and our rent ended up being 480 per month for a two bed two bath - they honored our initial pricing the entire time we were there - you cannot BEAT the price and location.

I guess if you want to live in building with a doorman, you should be willing to pay the price. But these apartments are nice and fairly inexpensive, the management staff is great and helpful. So there is a bit of a problem with mold, but they are more than willing to help with that and it's not nearly the problem some of these people make it out to be. I mean, come on, it's built on a bog. I just signed another lease. I'd recommend it. Really. Let's not be so dramatic.

The apartments are spacious, but put together with construction paper & Elmer's glue. Mold abounds behind the walls in the bathrooms. Then we have what they call security gates, all they are to me are an eyesore and dangerous when backed up onto Stelzer Road cause they want to charge you for a 'fast pass'. You would be a fool to purchase a 'condo' here.

In response to the July 9th blogger: Have you ever left your apartment? I have never seen gang members roaming the streets and I've lived here for three years. I've never seen a woman with 50 kids either. In fact, I feel pretty comfortable walking to the dumpster and the mailboxes. I feel embarassed for you, first because of your ignorance, second because you have poor grammer. I also feel sorry for you; I would feel stupid if I opened up my mouth and garbage came out, as it does when you speak. As far as the environment of the apartment complex, I have lived in the same place for almost three years. Am I defending the management company? No. I find them to be lousy at times. I am defending the majority of my neighbors that I have spoken with. If you wanted too, you could find the "ghetto" in Northeast Columbus, and you wouldn't have to travel very far. The Albany Club, however, is far from "ghetto." Please bloggers, proofread your work, and your brains before you submit a review. Thanks. D-Money( a white man whose managed to survive here)

I would not rent here for at least another 6 months. I don't want to live somewhere with racist neighbors like the anonymous poster here. Racist and stupid, actually. If the atmosphere of the place is so terrible and "ghetto", you'd think one would see that, when going to look at the place. Or does the management hurd all the "black women with their 50 children" into their apartments like animals before the nice white couples come?

Have some decency and keep your racist comments to yourself next time. While we all know people like you exist, we really hate to be reminded.

Pros: Gated community, with 24 hr "security" 2bd apts. are fairly spacious Great location--close to Easton shopping ctr., major freeways Free gym membership (Power Shack), and an onsite gym Cons: The pass code to gain entry to the community is not necessary, because they seem to just let anyone in. The gate keeper will wait until the office is closed, and take long breaks, sometimes leaving the gate up while they run off the chat on their cell phone. They're push overs who will let ANYONE IN.

I lived there for 16 months (Feb 04-June 05). Great location!! Nice, clean community near Easton and Gahanna. Grounds always clean. I moved only because I was relocating back to SC, otherwise I would have stayed!! I do agree with most of what the others stated but let me give my personal twist.

Management: Triangle was the management company when I moved in. Crawford took over the complex about 6 months into my lease and then my unit was sold to Bray Co about a month after that. (Crawford is in the office but other companies manage some units.) Triangle and Bray Co were very timely with maintenance request (I never had to call Crawford). I never had serious problems just dripping faucets, loose banister, etc. They always came within 24 hours and fixed the problems!! The times I did have to speak with employees of Crawford I was very disappointed. They were rude most of the time.

Crime: I lived there during the rape in spring 2005. Crawford did notify all units by placing a detailed leaflet on every door with safety tips and the attackers description and picture. (I was grateful for this even though I learned of the event from the News). I was never victimized but know of the break-ins and vandalisms referenced by others b/c I obtained the Police Depts crime reports for the area every month. (I advise all to do this. You can get free hardcopies from the police officer, it was Lt. Ditmer while I lived there) I even supplied Crawford and Bray Co with copies. I never saw any drug dealing but would have called the police and management if I had. Neighboring kids were responsible for some vandalism. I witnessed older kids kicking in the privacy fence and called the office. Crawfords maintenance came right down but the kids were gone. The kids returned and kicked more wooden frames out about 10 mins later, so I called the office back. Maintenance came right down again, this time the kids were still around, and maintenance chased them away :-) Maintenance routinely replaced pieces of the fences that had been kicked out. (FYI: parts of the apt backed into a park and older kids wanted to use the complex as a short cut to Steltzer). The reality: crime is everywhere; we all have to do our part to reduce it. You cant complain too much if you witness drug dealing/other crimes and dont notify the appropriate authorities, its only a matter of time before it escalates.

Towing: Crawford does have a strict no abandon/non-operable car policy. If a car has not moved in a while or is obviously non-operable (i.e. flat tire) they place an orange sticker on it. If the car still is not moved/fixed, they tow it. I was a graduate student while I lived there and I would leave for holidays/summer breaks so I just suggest calling the office and letting them know, my vehicle will not be moved for 1 month because.. Personally, I liked the policy; I dont want to live in a place where people can stash stolen cars. Now there was one time, when Crawford notified tenants at 10 pm by placing leaflets on the doors, that cars needed to be moved by 7 am because they were paving the streets. (Not good planning) They towed unmoved cars to other parts that werent being paved but I can only imagine the horror many experienced when they came out and their cars were gone; not knowing Crawford had them towed to another area of the complex.

Pot holes: not unusual during the winter due to the snow, no different from the public streets. Would be filled and patched. I don't recall it being a problem during any of the other seasons.

Long write up: but hope it helps :-)

Folks, I moved in about 2 years ago, and moving due to my job. When I moved in, it was owned by Triangle Real Estate, which did a superb job. As an incentive to move in, they gave me a brand new washer and dryer that are mine to keep. The staff knew my name and were very friendly. Didn't have any problems with drugs, crimes, etc. on the property to my knowledge.

After my building was sold to Bray, it has gone downhill. A lot of the buildings are now owned by 3rd parties, rather than by one company (as it was under Triangle). Each of those bldgs. uses its own methods to check people prior to renting, and I dare say some don't do a thorough job. I personally have never been threatened, or had any criminal problems (ex. car broken into, etc.), but I can believe what other reviewers are saying. The fitness center has been closed several times because of uncontrolled kids (parents just letting their children run loose, even though there are signs posted requiring parental supervision). The pools tend to get extremely dirty (tons of hair floating in it as well as other detritus).

When I moved in, we had heavy rains and I woke to find worms were crawling in my apt. I called maint. and they sent out someone a couple days later to caulk the doors and what not to prevent them from coming back in, but still, when you are paying $600+/month, one should expect that one's apt. shouldn't be invaded by worms! On the plus side, when a neighbor's pipe burst and was flooding my apt., they had a crew on site working within 5 hours of the incident.

Is it a nice place? Yes it is. It's conveniently located to various churches, shopping (grocery, mall, tech, etc.); banks and other financial institutions are reasonably close. The grounds are nice and generally well-kept.

I've lived here for four months and my only complaint so far is that the person above me is incredibly annoying because she walks like a monkey. Maintenance has been quick to help, parking is a treat, I've never seen a cop car back here, never been broken to. The staff is a bit slow at times but, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to lease apartments.
