This review will go to every site that I can find for apartment reviews. I first would like to say that I was blind-sided at many things when I moved in. It looks very nice on the outside, seemed very affordable for what you get and the staff was friendly, however … Shortly after I moved in I started to notice that every time it rains my basement would flood. At first, I did not realize why it was getting wet, but then I started to derive a conclusion. I called the rental office and they came out but it continues to do it until this day. The windows are not sealed completely and the water comes thru when it rains also, making the window seal wet.
Then the basement steps fell thru while I was walking down them, luckily I was not hurt. However, it fell thru not once but twice. The second time they fell thru is because the first time it was rigged with thin boards. I called in and Nicole sent someone out to make sure they were sturdy.
The parking is atrocious. I have called several times about too much activity and people bringing friends and family over and taking all the parking. The visitor parking is not good at all, there is only about a couple of spaces. which are located only in about 4 to 8 areas within the property. I was suckered in to paying a 20.00 fee to reserve a spot, and this is only for one spot, mind you 2 people live here and both have cars. I believe that each apartment should have at least two reserved spots free. They ask for your license plate numbers when u sign a lease, but I am not sure why, cause it sure in the **** isn’t to make sure you have parking.
Lastly, the big kahuna of all my problems is that I have is the air conditioning. The air has broken at least 3 times since I been here for 2 years. I called each time and it seems as though they rig it to work for a short period of time. The reason that I say this is because each time it breaks down it is because of the same reason. It makes the same sound each time and hot air blows out. I have asthma and this summer it is very hot. I have been on my breathing machine once already this morning. I called before the office was open and I would have been charged a fee of $50.00 if it did not fit what they thought should be an emergency. They have on the recording if the temperature is under a certain amount when it is cold that it can be labeled as an emergency, but not if the weather is too hot. I called in and spoke to Nicole and she said “well maintenance usually do not fix air conditionings on the weekend.” Which that does not make any sense. I explained that I have asthma and it is supposed to be up to 90+ degrees today, I also asked if I could be provided some fans to use until it gets fixed. I was told they they do not have any fans and to go purchase one. I just do not understand why the “so called maintenance “don’t do certain things on the weekend. If you have a maintenance service, then they should be able to help residents with issues, especially during business hours with maintenance issues. I do not know what I am going to do until it gets fixed; probably sit in the emergency room with an asthma attack until The Brookville see’s fit to fix the air conditioning.
I am not trying to cause trouble nor bash the company, but it is what it is. I have proof and pictures of everything I am stating, to the basement steps, to the leaking windows and flooded basement. The Brookville could care less about their residents; they only care about raising rent and adding a fee for everything under the sun that they can find.
I doubt that this will get any resolution, but thank God I am out of here within 30 days. I will NEVER recommend this property to anyone, EVER! Be cautioned, because not everything on the outside that looks sweet is what it seems. I will continue to sit here and wonder if they will have time for me to fix the air conditioning, because “they don’t fix air conditionings on the weekend”, and it is Saturday morning. ….
