Actually, he is the boyfriend of my neighbor. He keeps trying to get everybody in the building to write negative reviews because he has personal problems. Even has a file called "trashes" that he wants us to use. Don't believe everything you read. I've only lived here less than a year, but I'm staying until I'm done with school. It's safe, maintenance is great and it's usually quiet. Hopefully she'll get rid of him or they will move soon. The only problem I have is him.

I moved in August 1, 2010. When I first got here, I was a little shocked by the condition--it looked nothing like the model, which is bound to happen, but it looked pretty bad. However, immediately upon expressing my concerns, the office staff took care of me: they replaced my entire carpet quickly and efficiently, and had new, very nice looking linoleum tile put down in the bathroom. These two things greatly enhanced the appearance. Recently they replaced the carpeting in the entire building, which also improves its look. I have tons of closet space, always get a good parking spot, the pool is clean and lovely, and the building is secure. My upstairs neighbors are a little on the noisy side, but that is no reflection of the apartment. The new office manager, Kitty, is great, and all maintenance issues are taken care of very quickly. The guys are nice, clean, polite and careful. I would recommend the South East building since it's a bit more removed, but that's just me. Also, I love that I face the back field/yard, not the parking lot, because it's just a nicer view when you look out the windows. My cat loves the deep windowsills, too. It's bright, airy, a great price and a decent location. The #18 bus stop is a 5 minute walk and a 20 minute ride to campus, and there's easy access to the 315 freeway. I pay $534/ month for rent, gas, water, free internet and the pet fee.

I too am an OSU grad student and have lived very happily at Harvard Square for several years while here studying. I feel like a get a good deal for my money here. My place is not new, my AC has been down a couple times this summer but the guys are prompt about getting it fixed. I think its just old. Anyway, I watched them put in the new pool which is beautiful and because I overlook it, I can tell you all the residents here are really enjoying it now that its done. I looked at the other places in this neighborhood and for my dollars, the prices were higher for less space and the utilities were crazy. I feel like my apartment is nice and well cared for, my requests are dealt with quickly and professionally, and I get a good value for my money. I would and have recommended friends here and have gotten $$ for it. I think its a terrific deal, especially for the area.

I have been here several years because it is the best deal, its quiet, and the maintenance guys do the best job. Look around! This place is not new and Raymond and the guys are always so friendly and busting it to get things fixed. They don't always get it the first time because some of this stuff is old but they always show up and are friendly and they get it done. As far as food getting spoiled in your fridge, you might try renters insurance. Good luck getting any landlord to pay for that. My experience is that once you tell the office something, they get it done. Get over yourselves.

I am a student on a budget at Harvard Square and my lease is up next month. I got a great deal when I moved in a year ago and my rent is going up this year. I like my apartment- the cabinets are newly painted the the appliances are newer. My carpet was new when I moved in and they have offered to clean it with my renewal. The maintenance guys always fix anything within a day or so and are really nice to work with. I have looked around at all of the other complexes in this area to see if I can find a better deal and so far I cannot. Everyone else in the area- Fox and Hounds, Governor's Square, etc. are all way higher that Harvard and are not offering any deals to move. I am going to be bummed to have to pay more but the only thing cheaper is to move to campus with a bunch or roomates and I don't want to do that. I still really like living here- the office is responsive to my needs and they take care of the place. I am going to renew- even with the higher rent this year, it is still the best deal in the area. If anybody knows something I don't in this area then let me know, otherwise I'm staying.

I am an OSU grad student who lives at Harvard Square and has been here for the last two years. I think this community is a real find and I have even looked around the 2 times my lease has been up. You can plainly see that this place is not new but it is far and away the best deal in the area. The apartments are in good shape, they have a new budgeted heat for my building that is half of what the other places around here are charging, the rent is cheaper than any place else and they offer me a good deal to renew every year.

As far as the last review, sounds like someone does have sour grapes. The first year I lived here, they put a whole new roof on my building and a new heating system and offered me freebies and gift cards for the inconvenience while it was being done. I live on a budget so I think the new free internet is awesome. I upgraded so it is faster but it is still a fraction of what the big companies charge- only $19 bucks a month.

I have never had a problem with my rent either. I travel and study long hours so I think it is great I never have to remember to go to the office with my rent check. In the 2 years I have been here, my rent always pays on the same day of the month unless that day is a weekend. And dude, the office looks awesome and the maintenance guy, Ray, has worked there for like, 25 years- for real! I seems to me that the management has been working a lot since I have been here to keep the place looking the best it can without jacking the rent.

I have made $600 bucks from the office referring people here and they are all happy. I hope that other guy moves on and that the people at Harvard Square can continue to keep my rent low and give me a nice safe place to live while my money is tight.

This place is a nice place to live. It is close to campus and is conveniently located next to everything. If you are looking for a cheap place to live that is safe...live here. The apt themselves, are kind of old, however the office staff is very nice...and there is hardly ever any crime here.
