This is our second time living here at Sawmill Village! We really like the location! It is very close to my husband's work and all the stores we need are within just a couple of minutes.
The staff is great and very helpful! Maintenance is very good and usually gets things done in a timely fashion unless there is some major problem elsewhere.
The major down side to this complex is the parking situation. Not only is there not enough parking for residents, but the visitor parking is horrendous. There are between 26 and 30 units in our building (not sure the exact number), but there are only 20 spaces in front of the building. With each apartment being allowed 2 vehicles, you can see why that would be a major problem. The visitor parking is so far away that it is difficult to have people over for dinner unless they are in good enough shape to walk a ways to get here. You would think they could come up with some soft of guest pass system or something so you could at least have visitors without the fear of them being towed. The majority of available parking is taken up with garages. In my humble opinion, it would be better to tear down some of the garages in favor of regular parking spaces. Especially considering some of the garages are just used for storage and then people are still taking parking spaces. My parents who are getting older now are planning on visiting when I have my baby and it would be nice if they didn't have to park a mile away and walk to my apartment.
Apart from wishing they would do something about the poor parking situation, we really enjoy living here. The grounds are nicely kept, and the apartment is great! We love the space and the new appliances! They have many great amenities as well!

Dear Residents, prospective residents, past residents, and general reader,

We know that every community has its ups and downs.

As a staff we are always interested in hearing ways we can make your time better with our community.

We have been told that the homes needed upgrading and have since begun to upgrade the homes with new appliances in the kitchen and lighting.

We have been told that parking was an issue so in March we made changes to the parking permits and have increased our patrol of the lot to help make sure that the parking is monitored at all times.

We have been told that pets are not being cleaned up after.

So we have scheduled to install a dog run in March/April (pending weather) to try and give pet owners a place to take their pets and have the means to clean up after the pets.

What I am trying to say is that all of us here at Saw Mill and with our corporate office do listen and care what you have to say.

Whether it is good or bad we want to hear it.

We can not make things better without your help and I am always available to listen.

Please, if you are frustrated, have an idea for an upcoming event, or just want to express a concern, please call me at the leasing office.

I am always willing to listen.

Or, if you can not call, email me or stop by.

My door is always open.

Thank you to everyone that has been apart of our community.

Your feed back, whether good or bad, has allowed up to grow and to improve.

We will continue to strive to grow and build a better community that we can all be proud of.

So thank you, again, I will continue to try and resolve any issues in our power to fix.

Again, you can reach us in the office at 614.761.9608 or by email at kprophater@associatedestaes.com.

I have lived in Saw Mill for a number of years now. I have seen staff come and go and the property change for the better with each new person that comes in. The community is like the resorts that I was familiar with when I lived in Florida with the indoor pool, out door pool, tennis courts, fitness center walking path, and sauna.

My apartment is very large. I think it is 1500 sq. ft or there about with 2 rooms that fit king size beds. I live on the first floor and have no plans on moving.

I would encourage people to come out and have a look at the homes here. I have been here since 2008 and will continue to stay here until I purchase a home.

I moved in here about a week ago after a long wait. From outside- it had everything I wanted and thats why I waited full 2 months for this apartment. During move in and lease signing the staff and manager were really nice and my leasing officer is very humble guy- they treated us well. After we moved in, we found number of issues with apartment which needed to be fixed. I emailed the list to leasing agent the day after move in who agreed to get them fixed as soon as possible. I had total of approx 27 issues- some of them were minor and some of them needed immediate attention like water leak in kitchen sink, slow Bath tub
drain, Broken Den door etc- its a long list. It has been a full week since I requested the service but nobody came in to have a look. I personally went to office 3 times and leasing officer always tells me they are going to take care it soon but I am not sure when they are going to fix stuff. In website they claim maintenance service will respond within 24-48 hours but thats certainly not the case here. I think it is still early to make a bad impression but things are not moving in right direction. let's see what happens. Other than that, I really like the apartment, its location, space, balcony, lake view, neighbours, tennis courts, gym- everything seems very nice. I really like the place so far except maintenance service which I hope will improve and I get to enjoy the apartment.

While the facilities are very nice, the management is horrible! They were always extremely rude. Without warning, I was charged extra expenses that were not explained to me when I signed my lease. Moving out was a total hassle. If you move here, I highly recommend you DO NOT paint. I was told they would give me the paint to return the walls to their original color. After all, they expected me to buy this extremely expensive paint. They were very very rude about my move expenses. If you want a place that is willing to work with you and actually be kind to you, this is not the place.

We moved in almost three months ago and already are thinking about moving once our lease expires. The parking situation is horrible. When we first visited the complex they said that "parking was not a problem". Since moving into our apartment it has been a fight to get a good parking space. The good spaces are usually filled btw. 5-6pm. If you arrive at 8pm, be prepared for a 2-5 minute walk to your apartment. We live on the first floor and during the past 2 rain storms, our rug was soaked. Maintenance came to "fix" the problem, instead my sofa leg was broken by the maintenance guy. THe next day it rained again and the rug became even more soaked. We asked about changing our apartment or leaving the complex since our apartment smells like wet rug 24/7. Their response was "you would have to pay fees and penalties for breaking your lease". We are trapped in a smelly apartment, and a sofa with a cracked leg. Good grief!!! We don't plan to renew our lease.

My husband (then fiance) lived there about two years ago, so things may have changed. It is an older community, but nicely maintained. We really had a lot of fun living there. It was very quiet and close to all the businesses on Sawmill. But, the traffic could be bad. It depends on where you work/study and at what times you will be driving. I beleive there are some alternative routes using the back roads to avoid traffic. My husbands car was broken into here, but that also happened at our new apartment in Dublin. (Probably happens everywhere) I am not sure what apartments are going for these days, but we left because they raised the rent to $720 which was a lot for an older 1 bed room apartment. I would suggest checking it out. Especially if you like the idea of living close to Sawmill where it is easy to find a place to eat or a movie to see.
