Apartment Reviews for Spring Creek
Only If You Get a Discounted Price

This place is okay if you are tight on money and can get a good discount. I lived there for one year and a couple months and would never go back. I paid $599 for the upstairs one bedroom with den (Sandpiper). I moved out in 09/2011
CHECK THE ACTUAL APARTMENT THEY GIVE YOU BEFORE SIGNING YOUR LEASE. It likely won't be nearly as nice or clean as the model they show you. Another person moving in the same day I was came back to the office to void their lease because things were so bad. I didn't have much of a choice with work starting so soon. I had accepted a job in Columbus and had to move from another state. I only had a two week notice and was signing my lease Saturday, when my job started Monday. I did most of my apartment shopping online since I lived 5 hours away and decided to live close to work.
People there can be loud, there are parties until late into the night with loud music which is frustrating for those of us who work a normal full time job. Trash left around the property is not cleaned often enough. I actually kept track once and it took over a month for them to remove items that had been placed all around the dumpster. There are HUGE potholes in the driveways all throughout the apartment complex. They have been there as long as I can remember. At first I assumed they would wait until summer to fix them, but Labor Day came and they were still as bad as ever.
The month before I moved there were about 5 BURGLARIES AND THEFTS. I was included as well as the people who lived in the apartment below me. The doors of both our apartments had been kicked in. I should add here that the locks on the apartments are not at all sufficient. Only one lock can be locked when you leave your apartment.
Maintenance takes way too long to do their job. And often when they did finally come they wouldn't actually fix the item, they would just put up a note to say they did, but when I checked I would still have the same problem. Then I would have to wait another ridiculously long amount of time for them to actualy come fix it. When my door was kicked in they came and put a temporary fix on since it was Friday evening and said they would be back to do a better job. I stayed with someone else until I found my new apartment but when I came back a month later to get my kitchen and bedroom stuff that hadn't been stolen, the door still wasn't fixed...
There was a sex offender that lived in the building across from me. I never had to interact with him, but it was a bit unsettling being a petite young woman living alone.
When my lease was up I went to talk with the property manager to see if maybe they could either fix the things in my apartment or move me to another unit. The price of $599 that I was paying was hard to beat with being so close to work and not in an absolute dump. I told her I was unhappy with my apartment. Her response "THEN YOU SHOULD MOVE. WE DON"T WANT YOU HERE IF YOU'RE UNHAPPY" Keep in mind this was the actual manager, not Birdy, Heather, or anyone else that worked in the office. A good manager would have asked how they could fix things and taken down a list of what was wrong. So of course I didn't sign a new lease. I went month-to-month until I found a new apartment. After the break in of course I moved sooner than I originally planned.
For the prices they list, YOU CAN FIND A MUCH BETTER PLACE ON THE NORTH EAST SIDE OF COLUMBUS OR WESTERVILLE. It's only worth it if you get a good discount and have a dog or alarm to discourage burglars.
I'm young and this was my first apartment after graduating from college. I rated 3 stars because I would have stayed if rent continued at $599, the manager was nicer, things in my apartment were fixed, and no one broke in. Heck, I might have stayed with a small increase if the property manager was nice and cared enough to listen to what needed to be fixed because I really really hate the stress of moving. Now that I have moved, I would NEVER go back nor would I suggest any of my friends/family to move there. This place isn't a complete dump, but it has enough issues to make the price not worth it when you CAN get something better nearby.
