I have been living at The Meridian for about six months now. I didn't have any complaints in the beginning but things just keep getting worse. I would not recommend that anyone live here! The only reason I moved here was to be close to campus and it seemed like a nice place to live...WRONG! The office staff are complete idiots. They are very unhelpful and don't care about the residents. The property manager is rude and totally incompetent. Don't ever think that they will help you with anything because they wont. The apartment buildings seem to be safe and it is nice to have a parking garage, BUT my boyfriends car has been broken into twice and the other day I just saw the police talking to a girl whose window was broken out. In my building one of the windows on the front door were broken into and it had a wood block duct taped to it for at least a week. You can't walk outside without stepping in someone's dog poop. It is ridiculous. Its a bunch of stupid stuck up rich kids who cant pick up after their pets. I hear noise from neighbors at all hours of the night. On Sundays you are guaranteed to see beer cans scattered through the building from all the drunken idiots. Do NOT live here, it is the biggest mistake I made!!! You pay so much money to live in a "luxury" apartment that is not luxury at all. Beware: the office staff will be so fake and nice to you when you come to check out the place...once you sign the lease everything changes!

This place has GREAT potential, but several things need to change.

First, parking is BEYOND a nightmare! There is never enough visitor parking... maybe a dozen spots on the street and a whopping dozen spaces on the very top of the parking garage. Even though my lease SPECIFICALLY says I can park off the main street, they completley disregarded that and began a towing policy (from 7pm - 7am) that netted over 100 cars towed in a single weekend!!! (got that info directly from the towing company). If you NEVER plan on having visitors after 7pm or don't mind having your guests hike a mile to your apartment, this place is for you...

Secondly, a good portion of the tenants MUST be pigs. I am constantly finding empty beer bottles, vomit, pet urine/feces, cigarette butts and the like strewn about the hallways. Simply nasty. Oh, and the dumpsters get overfilled on occasion and dont get emptied sometimes for days afterwards... very pretty to look at, not to mention smell.

I have not had much need for maintenance, but most of the guys there are OK. There are a couple select 'stoner' types that seem to have no pride in their work, however, resulting in multiple trips to redo the original work.

Also, the fire alarm in the buildings get set-off a LOT, usually around 2-3AM (that's right, AM) and will continue to screech the most horrible sound, obliterating ANY chance you had of going back to bed, for on average 15-20 minutes each occurance. Sometimes there are multiple occurances per night. It's lovely.

Lastly, the staff (not all, but most) leaves TOO much to be desired, namely the property manager. Not only does the property manager create insane policies and is VERY rude when you are forced to deal with them, they only choose to enforce selected ones. Let's not worry about the stinky trash littering the community, or the broken glass and bent frames of the security doors, or the pet 'leavings' stinking up the hallways, or the noisy pigs we call neighbors.... let's focus instead on correcting the pesky parking problem that a dozen whiner tenants that were too cheap to pay for garage parking complained about.

Other than that, it's a great place to live =) That's why I won't be renewing MY lease...

I am a resident at OSU and the location couldn't be more ideal. I was recommended the Meridian and am really glad I listened to them. I live in the Acclivity floorplan which has a den, fireplace, huge walk-in closet. There is a gym right across from where i live that is owned by Meridian, which has nice equipment and best of all is free for Meridian residents. I live on the top floor with plenty of light, in the gated-garage building, so that i park my car 30 steps from my apartment. There are a lot of happy hours sponsored by the Meridian, at which I have met a lot of cool people, both students and professionals. Highly recommend this place.

I choose to live here based primarily on its convenience to OSU. The rooms are of decent size, but after 2 years of living here you begin to notice where they went cheap... like the walls are thin, the doors dont always shut properly, carpeting is cheap, formica flooring instead of real tile/wood, cheap doors, garage doors ALWAYS broken, workout facility is pathetic. Also, visitor parking is AWFUL. you will get towed at exactly 7pm btw. parking for people that dont live in garage buildings is also a nuisance.... and get this.. if you have a carport.. its reserved JUST FOR YOU.. but you CANNOT let a visitor park there for who knows what reason.. even tho there is room for 2 cars.

On the plus side, I dont have noise issues, and have usually been dealt with nicely from the office. I think if you are a good looking girl tho, then you will get worse treatment. The external apearance is nice, but the new hallway carpeting looks very cheap. The people around me are always very friendly tho, Ive not once had an issue with neighbors.. but every month or so a car will get broken into.

It has its problems , but its worth the money compared to what else is nearby.. just make sure u get a deal on special rate .. they offer specials a lot. Its still better than most other places

The apartment and location are overall great. The staff and the corporate office that manage the property are rude, unreliable, and do not have a clue as to what "customer service" means or entails. Expect to get the run-around when you call the office from all the girls that work there. And there is no voicemail system, so getting a message to the property manager is impossible.
Also, the parking situtaion is ridiculous. You should be able to park wherever you want, in a garage or on the street. There is ample visitor parking for your guests, but residents end up parking in it so they dont have to go into the garage at night. And BEWARE, though the towing company is not supposed to come before 7 pm, they always do!!!!!

Apartments are just better than average and the managment is incredibly bad. The people in the office are nearly retarded and rather rude. The parking situation is pathetic, and the managers have don? almost nothing to address it. The management will find any way that they can to nickle and dime you.Other than that its reasonable

I know Meridian was put under new management shortly after I moved out in 2002, but for what it's worth I lived there for awhile. I was one of the inaugural residents in the first finished building back in 2000 so the place was brand new, very nice but I don't think it panned out to be what it was originally planned as. It was billed as luxury and I think they intended to draw a somewhat older professional Grandview resident. However it quickly became housing for a lot of rich OSU kids driving really expensive cars and having 3 a.m. pool parties. The hot tub was always broken or drained empty by mgt. because people couldn't be trusted to use it responsibly. My next door neighbors (2 girls) got into a domestic dispute so violent that police had to be called and then escort one of them the next day as she moved belongings out. And then shortly after I moved out some kid (about 18 or so) playing with a loaded gun at a party in my building killed himself. Glad I was gone by then. It looks nice, the exercise area is decent, and if you're an OSU student with some extra $ you'll prob like it.

I won't share my really poor comments on the management or after hours maintenance help because that was under a different management company, so its prob not relevant.

The buildings are beautiful, great quiet area, and plenty of parking. VERY limited visitor parking, and it seems they took every short-cut they could to save money. Cheep carpet, flooring, what not...
