I just wanted to say Waters Edge was the worst place to live. I lived in for two years. But its a really bad neigbor hood, and the staff is not friendly like they use to be. I dont feel safe at all where I am at. They staff says its safe but it seems like the gates always break. There is no security guy all the time like they promised. The maintenance is terrible and they have a 24 hour hotline but what good is that. They dont even come out rite then and there to fix something. The property manager isnt very respectful to others. She has her favorites and that is it. I dont want to ever live there again. I hated it it was the worst experience I have ever had.

I have lived in a 2 bedroom/2 bath Ranch home in Water's Edge Apartments for a little over 1.5 years (August 2005 through March 2007). Today I dropped off my keys as I bought a house. It was a sad to leave Water's Edge. I have truly enjoyed my stay. The staff has always bee helpful and quick to respond to my questions or maintenance needs. The grounds are always kept looking wonderfully. My ranch home was my haven away from the world. It was quite, spacious and a blessing since it has an attached garage and washer/dryer in the unit. My Ranch is on a corner and has a beautiful bank of evergreens around it which gave me a lot of privacy. Also, it is very close to downtown which is great!

I never had a problem with crime, parking, maintenance, the front office or my neighbors. In fact, I became friends with many of my neighbors, which is unusual for apartment living.

I needed to break my lease a month early since I closed on my house and the office staff worked very hard to get my ranch rented by the end of March so I wouldn't have to pay for April AND a house payment. That was very nice of them, thanks guys!

The only concern I have had (AND IT'S A MINOR CONCERN), is the back gate entrance. Almost every weekend since last summer the wooden gate has been broken down by a large black Ford F-250. My unit is right across from the gate entrance and I would watch him break it down many times over the last nine months. I even went so far as to follow this truck in the complex after he broke the gate down. It turns out he is a resident or lives with a resident. During the summer, I did report this to the front office. I do not know what happened, but he still knocks down the gate. Personally I think he does this for fun because I have seen him use his gate clicker to open the gate as well.

The response of the management has been to add a security bar to keep people from driving around the gate, which is good. They also replace the gate on Monday, which is made out of a wood 2x4. Perhaps a STEEL gate would help deter the truck from plowing it down almost every Friday.

That said, I can say the apartment complex IS safe. I have never had an issue with vandals, theft of unauthorized people in the complex. The back gate is out of the way and unless you live there, you don't even know it exists. And the truth is, that if someone wants to break into your place, they will break in. SO the fact that the back gate is up or down doesn't really matter.

In addition, they keep the front Main gate is great working order which is excellent. Also, my unit has a security system which works perfectly. I know because when I first moved in, I forgot my code and the alarm went off and I got a call from the police asking if I was ok! So to me, a great security system is worth it's weight in gold and that is exactly what I had in my ranch.

So overall, living in Water's Edge was a wonderful experience and I will continue to recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great place to live.

I have lived at Water's Edge for a total of 5 years. I moved here right after graduating from college for a year, moved in with my sister for 3 years later, and then moved back here. Just recently, I went apartment shopping for my boyfriend. Other apartment complexes within the same price range don't even compare. Since the complex is privately owned, the criteria to live here is the same for everyone. Everyone in the office is extremely helpful and friendly. When I call in maintenance requests (which are usually fairly minor - for ex., changing a lightbulb), someone is here within two days. The landscaping company comes out consistently. The pool and workout facilities are always clean. Just recently, to accommodate residents, they added a door to the workout room so that it is open 24 hours. Twice a year the owner of the complex has huge parties for all the residents - food and drink provided. The residents are truly valued here. There is a very diverse population here - from young to old, from black to white to Indian. I'm finally moving out in June only because I am buying a condo. Otherwise, I could live here for a long time. I will miss living here.

Overall, I have been very pleased with Water's Edge. I moved in around 6 months ago and have not had too many complaints. The staff has always been very polite and helpful. I have had 2 minor maintenance requests and both times they came the very same day within about 30 minutes. The apartment is really in great shape. The carpet was brand new when I moved in and everything was very clean and in good working condition. There is always plenty of parking spaces and I am always able to part about 5 feet from my front door. My neighbors are very quiet and overall the whole complex is pretty quiet. I am a student and have never had a problem studying because of a noise disruption. Overall everything has been exceptional.

Minor Complaints: One complaint I have about Water's Edge is that the back entrance gate is broken almost every weekend. One reason I chose Water's Edge was because they had a gate at both entrances that only allowed residents and their guests to enter. However, almost every weekend and even sometimes during the week the back entrance gate (which is a 2x4 piece of wood) is constantly broken off. I don't know why this continues to happen. It is usally fixed promptly at the beginning of the week, but I don't know why they don't put in something more secure. I haven't called or complained, so it may be that the management doesn't realize that it is broken this often.

The second minor complaint is that at the beginning of the fall there were several car break-ins. The area right around Water's Edge is not that great and neither is the neighborhood across the street. The first two weeks I was there I heard several car alarms go off in the middle of the night. This was a little scary because I am a young single female. However, the management did send a warning out to other residents very promptly telling them to keep valuables out of the car and to keep the car locked. Since then I haven't heard of any more car break ins and overall feel extremely safe in my apartment.

A note to Runners: One thing I was very concerned about living at Water's Edge was there was not a safe place to go for a run that I could walk to from my apartment. I run about 6 miles a day and the area around Water's Edge was only .25 miles and a very boring run nonetheless. It was extremely tedious running a million laps around the complex. As soon as you left the complex area there was a major road and interstate that was not safe to run on. However, after a few weeks I eventually discovered that there is a excellent neighborhood in Bexley to run in that is less than 5 minutes from Water's Edge. You do have to drive to it, but it really takes not time at all. It is very safe and there are plenty of ther walkers/runners.

Overall I would defintely reccommed Water's Edge to anyone and have really enjoyed living there.

I have only lived here for about 2 months but so far I am very happy with my apartment. I was scheduled to move across the street into Bexley Woods, but I was not shown my actual apartment until move in day with all of my stuff loaded in a truck. The apartment was horrible, filthy, smelly and had horrible carpet. The reason I picked Bexley Woods was the low price, BAD IDEA!! I went across the street to Water's Edge and they showed me a few units that were available. I put a deposit down on my apartment and they approved me while I was out grabing lunch and I moved in that day. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to help me out. I have spoke to several of my neighbors and they all love it here, I'm sure I will to.

I have lived at Waters Edge for several years now and love it here. I work downtown and have found it very convenient and quick to go to and from work. My apartment has a great layout and has a full size washer and dryer included!! After several years of using community laundromats this was the selling point for me. I originally wanted a larger 2 bedroom but there was not one available for when I needed to be in so I settled for a smaller one. There is a large storage closet in my apartment so I ended up having plenty of room for all of my crap. The office staff was extremely helpful and informative when I was choosing my apartment and the few maintenance requests I have had were responded to quickly. I feel safe walking the property in the evening and enjoy chatting with other residents at the fitness center. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants a quiet community close to downtown.

I don't actually live at Water's Edge, but my daughter does. When she moved there, she was coming from out of state, and we had to take an apartment sight unseen. As a single young woman, we were very concerned about her moving to a new place. We figured that if she was not happy with her living arrangements she could always move the following year, once she was familiar with the city. After living there over a year and renewing her lease, she has yet to find another comparable apartment with the same amenities for the price. She loves her apartment, especially the fact that it seems to be nestled right in the middle of nature. She's found security to be very visable and helpful. All maintenance has been performed in an expedient manner. As her parents found the place charming while visiting.

I've lived here for over 3 years and haven't had any problems with management or my neighbors. It's a very quiet neighborhood with beautiful landscape. It's very close to I-70 on the East side.

Rent includes water. Renter pays gas and electric. Extra charge for wood or water view. Cats are allowed (must be declawed).
